ANNUAL REPORT 2015-2016 FISCAL YEAR

LETTER FROM PHIL As I reflect on the past year, I have so many incredible memories: our first Night To Shine, well over 200 baptisms, amazing performances of The Thorn, launch of a marriage mentoring ministry, significant growth in our connection and discipleship areas, opportunities to meet and talk with so many of you at First Step, a new church plant in Green Valley Ranch, and so much more. I am so thankful for the impact of our church, both near and far. My favorite stories, however, come from the people in our church who are learning to walk with Jesus every day. For the past several years, we have focused on building a church of daily disciples: people who strive to love like Jesus in every relationship and setting. We believe this happens best through serving others while learning and practicing the truths of scripture. So many of you are engaging with God and experiencing life transformation that can only happen through a relationship with Jesus. Southeast s ministries serve the spiritual, physical, emotional and relational needs of so many people locally and around the world, all made possible through the generous financial tithes and offerings given by many of you. As you join me in looking back on the past year, let s thank God for his abundant blessings and the many ways he is at work in us, among us, and through us. Following Jesus, Phil Vaughan Lead Pastor

216 IN 2016 We started attending Southeast Christian and found ourselves re-energized and spiritually full for the week ahead. I am now at the point where there is a huge tug on my heart to make that commitment of getting baptized in front of my friends, family and Jesus. I believe a life better than any I could have ever imagined is waiting for me on the other side of this commitment. A relationship with the only one who knows my whole past and will lead me step-by-step to a better, more fulfilling future is the only future I want. SCOTT A SIMPLE, OUTWARD EXPRESSION

837 WERE 1ST TIME VISITORS 501 For me, getting to know the hearts of our leadership team was the most valuable lesson at First Step. The pastors and staff members are all responsible for their own ministries but they also work with and pray for each other. It s truly a team of individuals with the same mission; to serve our community well.
