The Elim Pentecostal Church is a growing Movement of more than 550 Christian congregations in the UK and Ireland. 550 UK Churches 779 Active UK Ministers 1800 UK Colleagues 5,032 Churches Worldwide Presence in 24 countries Elim was founded in 1915 by George Jeffreys, a young Christian from Maesteg in South Wales. Jeffreys and a group of friends, known as the Elim Evangelistic Band, preached, started churches and witnessed a move of God that was characterised by miraculous healings and an explosion in the number of people becoming Christians. In a world that can feel like a desert, our 21st-century churches seek to be a place of spiritual resource within their communities. The founders wanted the name of their new Movement to express their vision and values, and so chose Elim, the name of an oasis in the Bible that the people of Israel discovered as they wandered through the desert. It provided shade and refreshment to all who encountered it. The Elim International Centre is set in 34 acres of woodland 812 feet above sea level, granting us with amazing views over the Herefordshire countryside. The original foundations were laid in 1836 and the house was privately owned before the St James girl s school moved in, who extended the site extensively. ElimTRAINING exists to assist ministers in becoming anointed and practically equipped to serve in whatever environment they have been called to. REGENTS THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE Regents Theological College is one of the leading Pentecostal Bible Colleges in Europe. Regents Theological College also serves as the national training centre for the Elim Pentecostal Churches. PASSING OF KNOWLEDGE Elim Training s passion is to pass on knowledge (knowing) that encourages exploration, understanding, insight and fresh perspectives on important issues of our faith and the practice of ministry today. ACADEMY Each academy focuses on a specific ministry area and provides input, tools, resources and opportunity to learn and reflect with others. REACH exists to deploy and equip church planters, raise up and equip evangelists and help churches and leaders develop effective strategies for reaching their communities with the gospel. EVANGELISM REACH passionately believes in the local church and their aim is to help equip them to effectively evangelise in the local communities of Britain. REACH provides the training, support and resources to make this happen. CHURCH PLANTING The REACH focus is on three core church planting models. Although there are a variety of viable models to draw from, unless we aim to make disciples who in turn go on to make disciples, we will never fulfil the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20).

ELIM FINANCE Our central ElimFINANCE department is situated in the Malvern offices and offer help and support to the local church on all matters relating to their finances. LCAS The Local Church Accounts Serivces consolidate all local accounts into one charity account. LCAS assists our churches in getting the data to our central office and report this onto the overal charity balance sheet. CHURCH SERVICES Elim Finance Department offers many services to the local church, such as the processing of GiftAid, help with building insurance requirements, the workplace pension requirements and the collection of all data for reporting purposes PAYROLL The Elim finance offices offer a payroll service to the local church. We operate the payroll and ensure payment and compliance on things such as the work place pension, changes in statutory rates and the issuing of payslips. ELIM ADMINISTRATION The central ElimADMINISTRATION department is responsible for the legal compliance of local churches in areas such as Property and Safeguarding. They also organise the Elim Leaders Summit PROPERTY With over 190 million worth of property owned by Elim, the Admin department manages the deeds, sale and purchase of our properties. SAFEGUARDING As a large charity, we take the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults seriously. Elim Admin ensures that our churches comply with their legal duties. Furthemore, Elim Admin advises Elim nurseries on Ofsted related issues. ELIM LEADERS SUMMIT Our annual leaders summit is attended by over a 1000 senior Elim Church leaders and their teams. The Admin team organise the event and are responsible for the ticket sales and running of the event.

INTRODUCTION The Elim Pentecostal Church is a growing Movement of more than 550 Christian congregations in the UK and Ireland. Elim is also a leading UK charity operating within the non-profit sector as a single consolidated charity. Elim s core vision and distinctive characteristics arise from its spiritual heritage as a denomination focussed on Christian mission and ministry. Elim International Centre Malvern is the base for the Elim s ministry, mission, training, administration and finance departments, serving the denomination s churches and activities. The Executive Director provides leadership to the management, administrative and operational functions of the Elim International Centre on behalf of the General Superintendent (GS) and the National Leadership Team (NLT). THE ROLE Reporting to the National Leadership Team, act as principal interface and co-ordinator between the Governing Body (currently the National Leadership Team - NLT) and the administrative, operational organisation upon which it relies. Responsible for overall operations and the creation of complete business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set in conjunction with the National Leadership Team. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic plan of the organisation, ensuring compliance with current and known future legal requirements. The Executive Director will be required to combine empathy and engagement with Elim mission and ministry, with understanding and experience of the challenges and responsibilities of the charitable sector. DUTIES INCLUDE: Communicating effectively with the NLT and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the NLT to function properly and to make informed decisions, ensuring that the GS has a cognitive awareness of all issues that are to be reported; Developing and implementing strategies aiming to promote the organisation s mission, as directed by the NLT; Planning and operation of annual budget and medium to long term financial planning; Creating complete business plans for the attainment of goals and objectives set by the NLT; EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR INTRODUCTION The Elim Pentecostal Church is a growing Movement of more than 550 Christian congregations in the UK and Ireland. THE ROLE The Finance Officer will work in the Elim International Centre and reports directly to the Missions Director. You will look after and support the missions team in Malvern and the missionaries abroad in financial transactions between donors and teams. DUTIES INCLUDE: Bank reconciliation, including accessing online and print daily bank statements, match entries where each transaction may be found, produce monthly imports for all standing orders and recurring payments and produce individual imports for all other transactions Manage the missionary budgets and support on new missionary appointment; Monitoring & reviewing budgets (with IMD); Preparing and submitting Missions budgets; Issuing and recording cash advances; Sorting receipts and updating spreadsheet with expenditure; Coding and creating import for expenditure; Email and phone calls with individuals, churches and missionaries regarding anything to do with finance; Matching receipts for/coding credit card statements; Taking credit card payments from donors over the phone; Produce spreadsheets with all figures for missionaries finances and match spreadsheets with the Finance department on a monthly basis; Maintain Journals, by coding, moving funds as instructed and correct any errors; Correspond with donors and missionaries following cancelled/failed direct debits; Ensuring department expenses are authorised and submitted on time; Matching receipts/coding expenses; Process Gift Aid claims and designate Gift Aid claims when money has been received; Email the IMD with monthly update of funds held in Loan Admin; Create a monthly journal of interest; Correspond with the bank when changes are needed; Correspond with external funding organisations such as CAP and Stewardship [Optional] To visit an overseas ministry once a year for approximately 5 days. THE PERSON Essential Desirable Qualification Part or fully qualified with a professional accounting body (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, or CIPFA); Evidence of on-going personal development and post qualification experience. Knowledge and Experience Skills and abilities Personal Qualities Other Requirements Strong experience within a financial department; Good experience with accounting and budgeting; Good knowledge of core financial systems and general accounting procedures; Experience of working effectively in collaboration with other agencies; Evidence of effective management of resources; Experience with accountancy software.
