Please give as God leads you. Our Children are Singing on Mother s Day! The children have been practicing for weeks and they re ready for their big performance on Sunday, May 12! A Word from Your Pastor Sunday Services Worship Team Rehearsal - 9:00 am Sunday School - 9:45 am Morning Worship - 11:00 am Wednesday Services Family - ***By Reservation*** All Ministries Begin at 6:30 pm Adult Bible Study Youth Bible Study 6 th - 12 th Grade Faith Weaver Friends Kindergarten - 5 th Grade Preschool Ministry Birth through Pre-K Worship Team Practice 7:45-9:00 pm At the beginning of the year I challenged you and me to read the New Testament through this year. The reading list is posted in the weekly worship service bulletin, the monthly newsletter, and on our web-site. I hope you took me up on it and are seeking to remain faithful. If you did not start, feel free to join us. As a reminder though, do not allow your focus to be merely reading and gaining knowledge. God is not as interested with what we know as He is with what we do with what we know. In James 1:22 we are challenged But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. (NASB) We are mistaken when we bask in what we know, yet live as if we know nothing. Currently on Sunday mornings we are focusing on being followers of Jesus, not just believers; men and women who accept Him and then make it our purpose to live that out. A follower of Christ is action-oriented, and to help understand that I shared this equation this past Sunday: Knowledge actions = squat. May we be driven followers of Jesus who take what we know and use it to communicate the love of Christ to all people. I shared with you last month that we had a zoning hearing with the city concerning issues on our property as we prepare to build. The hearing went well and the preliminary response appears to be that the parking, drainage, and landscaping issues that we were looking at will not be barriers to the project. We are thankful to God for working this out. Much of the rest of the preparation process is complete and as soon as we have the official word that permitting is complete and the loan is closed, we will be able to break ground. I love you and appreciate you. May God bless you and yours as you move into a new month. In Christ, Albert Pastor Albert
