community spotlight Rev. Scott Lambert It has been said, One can make a child, but that doesn t make him a father. It takes a special man to be a father. A father leads his children and teaches them in the ways of the Lord. A child doesn t always agree with their father while growing up, but after they re grown, they begin to appreciate them. Mark Twain once said, When I was 14 years old, I couldn t stand my dad, but when I reached 21, I began to see the wisdom he had and how much I loved him. Thank you to all of the men who chose to be a dad. It s a great responsibility, and one worth serving in. Happy Father s day to each of you. I thank the Lord for allowing me to be a part of your lives. June Fun Facts The birthstones for June are the pearl, alexandrite, and moonstone. On June 14, 1777, the flag of the United States was adopted by the Continental Congress. The birth flower for June is the rose. The name of the sixth month of the year comes from the Latin Iūnius, meaning sacred to Juno, the Roman goddess. In Roman myth, Juno is known as the goddess of marriage and childbirth and this might be the reason why June weddings are very popular. welcome new residents! happy BirThDay!
