Grades 10, 11, 12 Update from Katie Ryan: We have done a series of projects that I like to say is Spreading Holy Moments to our community. We organized a school event at a Basketball game in honor of a youth from the Anamosa community. We will be delivering blankets to the Ronald McDonald house in Iowa City that the students put together. (Material donated by Scott and Lisa Mosier). And we plan to attend Mass together at the Newman Center in Iowa City. We will also be volunteering to work at the Shared Blessings Meal on Saturday 27th. It has been a difficult weather year for classes but this special group of HS students have done well reaching out to the community to share their Faith. Adults, young and old, day Studies are at 9 a.m. in the religious education office in the parish hall. We study and reflect on the lectionary Scripture of the day and liturgical seasons of the church. Singing/Praying: 4 th Wednesday Sing - 24, 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. in the Church. Join us in prayerful singing or sit and listen prayerfully as we explore music of the season. LENT Stations of the Cross: Fridays at noon 5, 12, 19.

This food goes to the local Food Pantry so your donation stays here in our community. Last year (2018) we delivered 1,020 pounds of canned &dry food. You can bring your items to church each day. Would you like to donate a Lily in memory of someone? The Lily would decorate our church for Easter day and then you can take it home to decorate your home. If you are interested, please get a message to Sylvia (886-2506) before 15th, or put an envelope in the collection basket with the donation and the name of the person/persons you are remembering. Thank You Kathy Rouse for making the Purple banners now hanging in the back of the church in Tipton. They will be used for the Lenten and Advent seasons. Your Time, Talent and Treasures are very much appreciated. We need an updated list for volunteers for helping make food for funerals. There will be a sign up sheet in the back of the church if you are interested. Food can include Salads, cookies, or desert bars. We have three ladies who call for food: Kathy Rouse, Joanne Straumanis, and Joan Wethington. If you are interested you can sign up and be added to one of their lists. We want to help feed the hungry right here in Mechanicsville and Cedar County! The following is a list of religious education classes that will be responsible each week for helping provide items for the Mechanicsville Community Cupboard. All parish members are welcome to donate. Just leave your item on the table in the back. Students will bring the items forward during the offertory and place them in the baskets by the alter. We will have two Wednesday s that we will be using the children s version of The Way of the Cross. 3 rd : Children s version 10 th : Adult version Children s Mass Children s Mass will be on March 31 st during 8:00 a.m. Mass. The children, with the help of Marilyn, Jen, and Kylee, have been working very hard to prepare music for Mass. Please join us in supporting the youth of our parish.
