CITIZENS STUDENT LEADERSHIP fall 2017 A Note to parents Dear Parents, Thank you for your interest in the possibility of your student being involved in Citizens Student Leadership. Please know that it is not my desire to create more activities for your student to be involved in. Life is busy. There is always an activity to occupy our time. We recognize that busyness does not equate to growth and growth should not come at the sacrifice of family time and commitments. However, I want you to know that a commitment to this team involves much support, from you first, as well as our team here. We are here to help you grow a godly young man or woman. We believe that leadership opportunities are essential to healthy growth. In order to be a part of this leadership team, we require students to attend Sunday morning gatherings and The Academy, as well as Citizens on Wednesday nights. Additionally, student leaders are required to attend the monthly Leadership Lunch. If this is a commitment you feel your student can pledge to, we would love for them to fill out a Student Leader application. Thank you so much for your support. You are vital to the growth of a spiritually maturing young adult! Student Pastor, Sam Cassese 2

CITIZENS STUDENT LEADERSHIP Fall 2017 WHAT IS STUDENT LEADERSHIP? At Citizens, God is building a community of students who are learning to live for Jesus. Citizens student leadership is an opportunity for high school students that don t simply want to come along for the ride, but instead want to be a part of helping lead our community to where God is taking us. If that describes you, then this is an opportunity for you to be challenged and grow as a leader. If you would like to become a student leader, complete this application and turn it in to a youth staffer. After it is reviewed you will be contacted to schedule an interview with your youth pastor. WHO CAN BE A STUDENT LEADER? Student leadership is for mature students in 10th 12th grade who understand and want to commit to fulfilling the expectations of being a student leader (see page 2). OVERVIEW Student leaders will be invested in and challenged in a variety of ways. Once a month we will gather for Sunday lunch and learn some valuable leadership lessons as we share a meal. Other activities will include scripture memorization, trips/conferences, and experiences on various ministry teams. DATES The Fall 2017 quarter will run from September to December. Applications Due: September 10 Interviews: Week of September 10 (For new student leaders) *You will be contacted to schedule your interview Leader Lunches: Sunday, September 17, 1-2:30 pm Sunday, October 8, 1-2:30 pm Sunday, November 12, 1-2:30pm December 3: Christmas Party *CURRENT STUDENT LEADERS TAKE A RENEWAL FORM INSTEAD* 3

Each student will choose an area where they can use their gifts, talents, and strengths, to lead. Scripture Challenge As student leaders you will be given a challenge and encourage one another to work through as much of it as possible. The challenge will include scripture reading, memorization, and even memorizing the order of the books of the Bible. Student Leader Conference We ll be going to the Student Connexion our Student Leader conference. Cost is $25 (includes lodging, transportation, meals, and registration.)
