M-F 8:30 12:30 p.m. pastorlwlc@gctel.net OR secretarylwlc@gctel.net 1722 16th Avenue East, Alexandria, MN Through the power of the Holy Spirit we are growing, Sharing, and living in God s Word, Jesus Christ January 2018 Happy New Year Everyone!! In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9 There is a line from a recently released country music song that makes a lot of sense to me these days 60 seconds seems more like 30. What the writer of the song is getting at is the fact that time just seems to fly by! From my perspective, 2017 seemed to go by in a hurry. And I ask myself is this because I m 60 years old now; or is it because I only remember half of what I use to; or is it because life is so much fun (time flies when you re having fun)!!! Anyway thank you Living Word Lutheran Church for a wonderful year of ministry in the name of Christ! Did everything go according to our human plans certainly not but we can be certain that it was the LORD who established our steps as through His Holy Spirit, we were Growing, sharing and living in God s Living Word, Jesus Christ. Yes, the Lord has been at work through so many people at LWLC, and I join you in praising God for this!! So, as we enter a new year what should we be looking forward to in 2018? Here are a few things that I, as your pastor, envision the Holy Spirit doing this year at LWLC 1) continuing the proclamation of Christ and His Gospel Word 2) Binding us together in Christian love and service 3) Empowering us to invite others to join in the fun and the fellowship we have in Christ! Now, what do you envision for 2018 for yourself and for our community of faith? Has God blessed you with talents to share or continue to share? Do you feel God nudging you in a new direction of ministry and service? Is God urging you to invite a neighbor, friend, or co-worker to worship? Is the Spirit of God drawing you towards a new opportunity to hear and study His Word? Hey all I can say is this don t wait too long to act upon the Spirit s urging, because time sure does fly!! Brothers and sisters in Christ, blessings to you in this New Year! - Pastor A.J.

Delores Ewing. The Pledge IV Committee thanks all those who have responded to the important call of support. A call to help get rid of our debt and take us into a new time where we can expand the help and care we give others. A time that we all can also give thanks to our Lord for giving generously to us, enabling us to pass that gift of love on to others. To Everyone at Living Word Lutheran Church, we would like to thank you for your generous support of our work in Honduras. A special "thanks" to all those who have donated school supplies. These school supplies will help many young children in their education. Honduras is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere and gifts that contribute to their education are very important, so "Thank You." Also, to others who have contributed in giving support in other ways, we thank you and appreciate all of these efforts as well. John Kirckof
