ABSTRACT SholihahAlviKusumaDewi/ A320130042, INTERCULTURAL CONFLICT REFLECTED IN JULES VERNE S AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS NOVEL (1873): A SOCIOLOGICAL APPROACH. School of Teacher Training and Education, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. 2018. This study aims to investigate intercultural conflict in Around The World In 80 Days novel. The study points out cultures caused intercultural conflictand shows why cultures are causing intercultural conflict and describe the solution are offered to dealing with intercultural conflict. The type of study is qualitative research. In analyzing the novel, the researcher uses a Sociological approach. The primary data source taken from Around The World In 80 Days novel by Jules Verne. The secondary data sources are other sources such as journals or articles related to the primary data. The result of the study shows the following conclusions. First, there are three cultures causing intercultural conflict such as ritual, norm, and values. Second the reason of why those cultures causes intercultural conflict is because of different culture and opium, language, and different values. The last is the solution that offered in novel are saving the women, adjudication, and attacking the Sioux. Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. 2018 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meneliti konflik antar budaya dalam novel Around The World In 80 Days. Penelitian ini menunjukkan budaya-budaya yang menyebabkan konflik, memperlihatkan kenapa budaya-budaya tersebut menyebabkan konflik antar budaya dan menggambarkan solusi yang ditawarkan untuk menyelesaikan konflik antar budaya. Tipe penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Dalam menganalisa novel peneliti menggunakan pendekatan Sociological. Sumber data utama yaitu dari novel Around The World In 80 Days karya Jules Verne. Sumber data kedua yaitu data lain seperti jurnal dan artikel yang terkait dengan data utama. Hasil dari penelitian ini memberikan beberapa kesimpulan. Pertama ada tiga budaya yang menyebabkan konflik antar budaya seperti ritual, norma, dan nilai. Kedua alasan mengapa budaya tersebut menyebabkan konflik yaitu karena perbedaan budaya dan candu, bahasa, dan pebedaan nilai. Terakhir adalah solusi yang ditawarkan di dalam novel adalah menyelamatkan wanita, pengadilan dan menyerang Sioux.
