An Invitation to Daily Praise and Thanksgiving I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. Psalm 9:1 Every time we encounter serious emergency, dialing 911 is our spontaneous response. I wonder how praise and thanksgiving to God, often comes to our mind. It s not just on Sunday or during Thanksgiving holiday, but in our everyday lives. I personally think of 911, as a personal formula of praise and thanksgiving to God. The first two digits, 9 and 1 represents Psalm 91, while the last digit 1 represents a day or every single day. I witnessed and participated in some of the Halloween activities in our community. It s interesting to observe how children and children at heart prepare, dress and get engage in this occasion. Parents spend extra effort to help their kids take part and enjoy the different events being offered to the public. Various sectors of our society also extend their fair share in making it more fun for everyone. It s now November. Thanksgiving Day is around the corner, I wonder how we also take an extra effort to help the next generation understand the importance of why we celebrate Thanksgiving. According to wikipedia.org, Thanksgiving has been celebrated nationally on and off since 1789, after a proclamation by George Washington...It has been celebrated as a federal holiday every year since 1863, when, during the American Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of "Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens," to be celebrated on the last Thursday in November There s a lot behind the thanksgiving story, including criticism and controversy. However, I believe it is important for us Christians, to pass on to the next generation what President Lincoln proclaimed. King David, himself, recognized the importance of praise and thanksgiving to God. If you read the 9 th chapter of Psalm, it tells us how King David acknowledged God s protection, deliverance and redemption. In the same way, our great nation has been blessed with God s protection and deliverance. This great country became a superpower, as one nation under God. I believe it is very significant for us, to proclaim what God has done, to tell to every one of God s wonderful deeds. May we not ignore or forget the source of our blessings. It is my prayer and invitation to all, to practice personal 911, to praise and thank God, each day of our life. A blessed Thanksgiving Holiday to all!

The envelopes are labeled with the project and placed in the pew pockets in the sanctuary. What does God's Word say about giving? Well, the great apostle Paul said this to the Christ followers in Corinthians, " Here is my advice: It would be good for you to finish what you started a year ago. Last year you were the first who wanted to give, and you were the first to begin doing it. Now you should finish what you started. Let the eagerness you showed in the beginning be matched now by your giving. Give in proportion to what you have. Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don t have! 2 Corinthians 8: 10-12 NLT
WOW...Thank you so much to the anonymous person who donates money to the every year, so we may go to the pumpkin patch. For a change this year we went to the Country Cousins Mercantile in Othello. AMAZING!!! We had the best time every. They offered us a personal experience and so much more. We arrived and got an educational tour of some old farm equipment. Then we moved on to the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch; where we were treated to some trivia questions and jokes. What do you get when you add 50 female pigs and 50 mail deers? ~ 100 sows and bucks ($100,000) Then when we got our pumpkins it was back to go through the straw maze, play on Hay Mountain, feed the goats at the petting zoo, and we got to play in a corn pit. (That was extra special fun!)
More pictures of our Pumpkin Patch!!! We also got to have a really fun Halloween Party and dress up in our costumes!!! Teacher Jenni & Kara Pumpkin Bowling!
