Midland First United Methodist Church W A Volume 46, Issue 13 March 31, 2019 Scholarship Opportunities Midland First United Methodist Church has a long tradition of placing a high value on youth and education. We are pleased to announce that First United Methodist Church Scholarships are available. Minimum requirements: be a graduating high school senior or high school graduate have maintained a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale be accepted to an accredited college, university, trade or technical school (prior to distribution of the scholarship) Priority Given: to those who are members of or regularly participate in Midland First United Methodist Church to graduating high school seniors or first-time college students How to Apply: Applications are available in the church office. The packets include detailed information about the criteria upon which the scholarship is based. Completed applications must be postmarked or returned to John Engler no later than May 10, 2019. The Scholarship Committee will select the recipients from all eligible applicants. There are three opportunities for you to support their work in Zambia: A $5 donation will sponsor a Frisbee (a note will be taped inside the Frisbee recognizing the sponsor) A $20 donation will sponsor a solar light (a note will be given to the recipient of light recognizing the sponsor) A $20 donation will get a "Faith, Family & Friends - Zambia 2019" t-shirt Checks may be made payable to Midland FUMC with Africa Mission in the memo field and dropped off at the church office. Easter Candy Donations Needed The Thursday Morning Bible Study is collecting Easter candy for New Heart United Methodist Church s annual community Easter Egg Hunt. New Heart is an inner city church on the west side of Saginaw. If you would like to donate Easter candy, please bring small wrapped candy of any type that will fit inside plastic eggs (no lollipops) by Thursday, April 4. We will have a collection box on the window ledge near the church office labeled New Heart UMC Easter Egg Hunt.
