Unholy Intercession Pastor Steven L. Shelley New Hope Revival Ministries Do you believe that God is able to bring His Word to pass in your life? Do you believe that no curse, no familiar spirit, no power of the enemy is able to stop God s Word from coming to pass in your life? If you take hold of God s Spirit and Anointing by releasing your faith, God will bring His Word to pass. Again we are standing on the threshold of another year. This may well be the year in which the Bride of Jesus Christ will step into her ministry. We are that close to the coming of the Lord. The last souls that are ever going to be saved are about to be saved. The final harvest is upon us, and satan is angry, because he knows that he has but a short time to work. Yes, the enemy has intensified his attacks, but there is a super kind of faith that raises up within my spirit, that lets me know God is able to see us through. I refuse to miss my hour. Every one of us will have to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps and stand in the Presence of the King and say, Lord, this is my hour. I refuse to miss my hour. The Lord has repeatedly told us we are getting ready for the greatest spiritual warfare ever. God s army is being equipped for this final battle. As the saints are climbing higher and higher, satan s arrows will no longer be able to penetrate and destroy us as he s been able to throughout the years. The Bride of Christ is beginning to recognize who she is, and how to thwart off every attack. The Lord has recently spoken to me concerning a matter I d like to share with you, because this very thing may be happening in your life. We ve had mighty supernatural manifestations in our midst, and of course, the enemy will not sleep or slumber when people are on their knees. Never as a local assembly have we had a prayer covering such as we have now. Our people have never prayed with such dedication and enthusiasm as now. They re praying that God would let each member of the Bride of Christ around the world step into her place and position to be used of God. However, in spite of our prayer life and mighty revelations coming forth from the Throne of God, many saints appear to be under severe attack. We have prayed and prayed, interceded and called on God. Then one day as I was waiting on the Lord for different people, when I was raising up a standard against the enemy for my family and friends, the Lord spoke something to me that puzzled me. I didn t know what it meant. So I searched out some references on intercession and found only one sentence on Unholy Intercession. I began to ask the Lord for wisdom, for the right spirit, for understanding, so I could express and share it with you. And God let me know. Intercession is a very powerful tool if used properly. It is the highest duty of every Christian. Every member in the Body of Christ is called to intercede for others. When there are those with urgent needs and may not even know they re in need, God so beautifully anoints someone by His Holy Spirt to carry a burden to raise up a prayer shield, a prayer covering against the fiery darts of the devil as never before. Intercession is also a powerful tool if used improperly, and God let me know that my little family and my congregation has been falling under attack from unholy intercession. He let me know there are people who may profess a walk with God, who do not think very warmly about us. We may have offended them, may not have seen eye-to-eye with them. They may think they know what it s going to take to settle us down, to turn us around and let us see things as they see them, and so they pray for us. The Lord has let me know they have even missed meals and prayed that He will turn us around and let us fall. That is unholy intercession, unholy fasting, He said. He doesn t answer unholy intercession. He is not going to bring something evil upon us because somebody wishes it so, but there are demon 3 Ó 2016 New Hope Revival Ministries. spirits, powers and principalities out there, who hear those words of curse and judgment. They will do everything they can to cause that unholy intercession to come against us, to let our foot slip, to bring us down to a place where those spirits can have influence in our life. That is why we have got to be covered with a prayer covering everywhere we go. We must pray and raise up the armor of the Lord. My precious friend, you may be under such an attack. You may feel bound in your relationships, your finances, your friendships. Perhaps you have offended someone who tries to put something on you. Oh, he s going to fall. Oh, he s going to suffer. Oh, she s going to pay. So they speak against you, and demon spirits of hell have raised up against you. Dear brother, sister, this is a serious matter. You can sit back and live it, eat it, sleep or drink it, you can experience it if you want to, but I will not sit back passively and let somebody pray and fast and put curses on me, my family and congregation, and not raise up the mighty Name of Jesus to break that influence. I resist that attack. I rebuke that attack. I will not have it, in the Name of Jesus Christ. I have lived with unbroken curses. I know how the powers of darkness work in people s lives. I have learned in the School of Hard Knocks, that there are serious things happening in the spirit world, and we had better get a good revelation of how to deal with spiritual wickedness in 4 Ó 2016 New Hope Revival Ministries. high places. There are certain elements, situations and circumstances that attract spirits. Let God make it real to you, so you can raise up and resist it. You ask, How can I resist it? Pray against every curse that s been spoken against you. Resist every unholy intercession, every unholy prayer pronounced against you, your children, your friends or families. I asked the Lord to cover me when I heard it, to cover me and help me to forget, help me not to resent or hate, but help me to resist it. I just resist it. I resist every arrow sent in my direction, and I raise up an angel in the Name of the Lord to smite that arrow, to hold it out of the way. God s Word has been given to us as the divine antidote. Use the precious gift of His Word. It has power to give you victory over everything satan wants to use in your life. Pray a prayer shield over yourself, your brother and sister, everyone you see struggling. This is a fight against the deadliest enemy, the enemy of our soul. Speak it out loud. I renounce ALL unholy intercession, ALL unholy fasting in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ in my life. I ask that the blood of Jesus Christ be applied to my life. I ask that the Word of God be a holy antidote against every spirit of hell sent against us, every curse, every tricky word, every trap, every pit satan has tried to dig. 5 Ó 2016 New Hope Revival Ministries. My precious brother, sister, help me raise His banner in the authority He has given us. Let us use His Name, His Blood, and His Word to raise up a hedge, a wall, a shield. I keep hearing the Word of the Lord, No weapon. No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper. I want to encourage you to stop giving him power in your life: Power to hinder, to divide, to touch your bodies. Claim the Lord s forgiveness in your life. Just receive it. Receive it! This is the time for deliverance. This is the time for you to be free. He is here to set you free, that you might live holy before Him. Lord, in the Name of Jesus, I join my faith and my prayer with everyone reading these words. Release your people, oh God, into a liberty and freedom to serve You with victory over every demonic stronghold. Let every curse be broken in their lives. May they rise up now to do the work that You have called them for. May they experience a release into praise and worship, that they might overcome that wicked one. Pastor Steven L. Shelley Senior Pastor of New Hope Revival Ministries Pastor Steven L. Shelley s life of ministry was prophesied before he was even born. His grandmother received a word that the child your daughter-in-law is carrying right now is chosen. He will carry the Gospel and many souls will be won to the kingdom of God, and he ll start at a very early age. Just like it was spoken, Pastor Shelley was filled with Holy Ghost and began preaching in 1975 at the age of seven years old and was pastoring full time by the age of seventeen. People were astounded by the revelation and conviction coming from this very young man. But it wasn t only the wisdom of the Word that touched them but the evidence of the supernatural power of God that operated in his life. His first experience with the supernatural was at the age of three when the Lord appeared in his room one night and told him things that were to come. He was told that his mother and father would separate (they divorced less than two years later) and that he would preach the Gospel and his life would not be ordinary. His life has been marked by the supernatural since that time and he has had countless visions, dreams, visitations and revelatory experiences.
Although his childhood was not an easy one God kept him through every hardship and gave him the grace not to be pulled into a lot of the traps that young people commonly face. As a result of that he was able to lead many of his fellow grade school students and even teachers to the Lord. His Pentecostal grandmother, Mildred Shelley, who had a great spiritual impact on him, pastored a church in Columbus Georgia and he would frequently be invited to preach for her. He also began traveling all over the United States holding tent revivals where he would preach and pray for the sick. Tremendous outstanding miracles and deliverances would take place and revivals would last for weeks on end. His grandmother passed away in 1990, leaving him in charge of the church, New Hope Prayer Center. In 1993, God opened the doors for 60 acres of land to be purchased in Smiths Station, Alabama and instructed him to name the property Eagle s Refuge Holiness Campground. By divine direction, the church in Columbus Georgia was sold in 2003 and a new building was constructed and dedicated in 2004. We are currently worshipping in this building in Alabama. Pastor Shelley has ministered in 65 countries and seen an outstanding harvest for the Kingdom in every one. There is one foreign country that he feels identified with more than any other and that is the nation of Israel. When he was 11 years old his grandmother took him on tour to
Israel where he met a part of his destiny. While visiting Yad Vashem he had a vision where he saw himself speaking to dry bones, as the prophet Ezekiel did and saw them come to life. At that young age he knew that he would one day return to Israel and see that vision come to pass. He didn t visit Israel again until 2002 at which time the Lord opened a door for ministry in the Land. In 2003 the Lord opened a door for our ministry to rent two apartments in Jerusalem where prophetic prayer and praise ushers daily. They have four beautiful children: Benjamin Judah (1998), Joshua River (2001), Olivia Zion (2003), and Moriah Destiny (2006). His mother Jane Shelley was radically saved in 1985 and is an active part of his life and ministry. So many wonderful promises and prophecies have been given to Pastor Shelley and the New Hope Revival Ministries.
