ARMS OF AN ANGEL (2013) Wond'ring and wand'ring with no place to be, With no clear direction to go. Wand'ring and wond'ring with no way to see Love in the ARMS OF AN ANGEL. Wasting and waiting with no special plan, Still willing to turn a blind eye. Waiting and wasting to not understand Love in the ARMS OF AN ANGEL. Now love has delivered me Into the ARMS OF AN ANGEL. How could I refuse to see? Love is sent from above. Dolefully, woefully, lost in my dreams, Unable to find my way home. Woefully, dolefully, yet love redeems Here in the ARMS OF AN ANGEL. BREAD OF THE WORLD, IN MERCY BROKEN (2013) Lyrics by C. Reginald Heber, 1826 BREAD OF THE WORLD, IN MERCY BROKEN, Wine of the soul in mercy shed; By whom the words of life were spoken, And in whose death our sins are dead. Look on the tears by sinners shed. And by the feast to us be token, That by Thy grace our souls are fed. Look on the tears by sinners shed; And by Thy feast to us be token, And by Thy grace our souls are fed. Look on the tears by sinners shed. And by the feast to us be token, That by Thy grace our souls are fed. EVERY SINNER HAS A FUTURE (2010) EVERY SINNER HAS A FUTURE, Every saint has a past, From the moment of redemption Til the time for time has passed. With the guidance of our Maker, Let us stay upon the path - Each a sinner with a future, Each a saint with a past. With each failed attempt to ignore The weight of sin on the soul, Unworthy to ask for God s grace, He dare not ask to be whole. Yet even in cold, lonely darkness, An ember of faith can flame To warm and lighten the pathway That leads from fear and shame. He pauses to see where he s been, To witness the havoc he s sown. And to each furrow he bends To reap whatever has grown. And then when he harvests compassion To feed the heart with grace, He knows the wealth of his travail Has led to God s embrace. EXTRA ALLELUIA (2011) Here is an EXTRA ALLELUIA - Seems like only two just won t do. While all the others stand in silence, I ll add an alleluia for you. Just when you think prayer is over And thanks is overdue, Here is an EXTRA ALLELUIA - An EXTRA ALLELUIA for you. Cling to the spirit of the blessing. Pause and give Him thanks on a knee. Our evening service won t be ended Without an alleluia from me. This is mine own joyous feeling That binds my faith to Thee. Lord, here s an EXTRA ALLELUIA, An EXTRA ALLELUIA from me. Praise be to Thee, our blessed Saviour. One more alleluia s a must. Spoke with the voice of affirmation, Another alleluia from us. Join me in bold exultation, Fore life has turned to dust. Here is another alleluia, Another alleluia from us. Now that the last word s been spoken And prayer has set us free, Lord, here s an EXTRA ALLELUIA, An EXTRA ALLELUIA, Another alleluia, Just one more alleluia for Thee. FISHES & LOAVES (2012) FISHES & LOAVES, FISHES & LOAVES, Seems like hungry folks just come in droves. FISHES & LOAVES, FISHES & LOAVES,...There s always just enough of FISHES & LOAVES. 29

Now when we come to share our prayer and supper, With many hungry souls and mouths to feed, A precious contribution comes from each and all. The good Lord will provide the rest we need....the good Lord doth provide with FISHES & LOAVES. Now some folks take a turn at frying chicken, While others choose to bake an apple pie. Still others by their presence feed my starving soul A loving feast that s sure to satisfy!...we ll all be satisfied by FISHES & LOAVES. May all partake of God s own bounteous plenty, And may they freely come to take their fill. And may our faith be strengthened by His endless love With heart and hand we need to do His Will....Accept His loving gift of FISHES & LOAVES. The good Lord doth provide with FISHES & LOAVES. There s always just enough of FISHES & LOAVES. FOR THE BREAD WHICH WE HAVE BROKEN (2012) lyrics by Louis F. Benson, 1924 FOR THE BREAD WHICH YOU HAVE BROKEN, For the wine which you have poured, For the words which you have spoken, Now we give you thanks, O Lord. By this pledge, Lord, that you love us, By your gift of peace restored, By Your call to heaven above us, Hallow all our lives, O Lord. As our blessed ones adore You, Seated at our Father's board. May the Church still waiting for you Keep love's tie unbroken, Lord. In your service, Lord, defend us, In our hearts keep watch and ward. In the world to which you send us, Let your kingdom come, O Lord. (2013) When the Lord had caused the rain to fall So to purge the wicked great and small, So to cleanse the sins. And were not for Noah s ark To preserve us from the final flood, So to lead us to return to good:. Moses went up to the mountain high Up to where the Holy Word came nigh, Tablets writ in stone. And when they were dashed to dust, Bade again to climb the holy crest, To renew the law that God expressed:. I amend and I atone. Not to live by bread alone. Jesus went into the wilderness, Tempted there by Satan s wickedness, To rebuke the Lord. Food and water had he not, And the wild beasts there surrounded Him, Ministered by angels sent for Him:. Surely I can follow in His path, To enjoy the evil Satan s wrath, Walking forth in grace. Spread compassion, peace, and love, Trusting that I m in my Father s care, Knowing that He ll keep me safely there:. I amend and I atone. Not to live by bread alone. Not to go it on my own. GOLDEN PATHWAY (2010) How you gonna walk that GOLDEN PATHWAY? How you gonna know your steps are true? Standin at the fork tween this and that way, How you gonna choose what s best for you? How you gonna make your way through darkness? How you gonna find that guiding light? Hopin you can take His simple likeness, How you gonna go into that Good Night? And there s an answer for all your questions, And a shield from all your fear. How you gonna find a hand to help you? How you gonna wipe away that tear? How you gonna walk that GOLDEN PATHWAY? How you gonna know your own true pace? Willin to believe that there s a right way, How you gonna find that Blessed Place? And there are questions for all your answers, As there s truth for every lie. How you gonna find that Land of Promise Where you never live and never die? Forget your questions and all your answers. Let your faith be bold and free. Then you re gonna walk that GOLDEN PATHWAY, And you re gonna find who you can be. 30

HE GAVE HIS SON (2013) He gave us ears to hear that we may listen. He gave us eyes to look that we may see. He gave us choice that we may know compassion. HE GAVE HIS SON to live and die as we. He gave us scent that we may smell the roses. He gave us touch that we may find our way. He lets us taste the sweetness of redemption. HE GAVE HIS SON to take our sins away. He gave us heart that we may love each other. He gave us time to mark when life must cease. He gave us fear that we may find our courage. HE GAVE HIS SON that we may live in peace. IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME SOMEWHERE (2004) It's always Christmas somewhere, where tinkling sleigh bells ring, With mistletoe to snag some beau and simple songs to sing. The bustle of the season, the glow of Santa s smile, The waft of baking savories, the marching down the aisle. The sound of children s laughter, New snow upon the park. Following that special star That leads me through the dark. It's always Christmas somewhere, a time of love and peace, When people grand and humble come to share their souls release. Wherever fam lies gather, I dream I could be there. For in my heart, I always know IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME SOMEWHERE. A time to set aside What keeps us all apart. It's always Christmas somewhere, If only in my heart. Wherever fam lies gather, I dream I could be there. I thank Thee for this gift of faith, IT S CHRISTMAS TIME SOMEWHERE. KYRIE ELEISON (2013) KYRIE ELEISON. CHRISTE ELEISON. KYRIE ELEISON. LET IT GO (2005) If you smite my left cheek as we speak, I ll offer to you the right. If your fear of the darkness is true, I ll offer up the light. When the burden seems too heavy, LET IT GO. When the burden seems too heavy, LET IT GO. When the world makes you stunted and small, Your roots can remain still strong. Fresh new leaves to respire with the earth, As the wind still sings its song. Let it grow. Let it grow. When you know the plant is healthy, let it grow. Let it grow. Let it grow. When you know the plant is healthy, let it grow. Should those bouts of frustration set in, And time seems to never pass, Reins won t work on a slow moving mule. But then Jesus rode an ass. Let it know. Let it know, When a beast of burden doesn t want to go. Let it know. Let it know, When a beast of burden doesn t want to go. Though my faith and vision be spent, I still know what I must know. I will see my timidity lose, If I only LET IT GO. When the burdens seem too heavy, LET IT GO. When the burdens seem too heavy, LET IT GO. LORD, WE WOULD HAVE HEARD YOU (2011) LORD, WE WOULD HAVE HEARD YOU. You didn't have to speak so loud. LORD, WE WOULD HAVE HEARD YOU. You didn't have to speak so loud. When the sun stays high and the sky stays dry And the land is so scorched it's like tinder; When the crops all die and the cows won't lie, Shall it then be our time for surrender? When the storms emerge and we're on the verge Of the loss of the homes we've abandoned; When our hearths submerge from the ocean's surge, Shall we keep on pretending it's random? When the fires rampage and the wild winds rage And the efforts of all seem confounded; When the river's gauge says we're at flood stage, Shall the faith of Your flock be resounded: Lord, we should have heard You. You shouldn't have to speak so loud. Lord, we should have heard You. You shouldn't have to speak so loud. MORE WILL BE REVEALED (2012) MORE WILL BE REVEALED, MORE WILL BE REVEALED, MORE WILL BE REVEALED, by and by....say a simple prayer. Bide within His care. MORE WILL BE REVEALED, by and by, by and by. MORE WILL BE REVEALED, by and by. 31

Now when I reflect upon life s journey, Recalling when I thought I knew the way. Mistaking expectation for acceptance, Remembering how the moment seemed to slip away....let Him show you how in the here and now... Now as I await that gentle guidance That only from His loving hand can flow, Relieve thyself of self in sweet surrender. O, what a joyful blessing just to let it go!...stay a steady pace. Walk within His grace... May I be prepared for revelation. May I be accepting of His will. Grant to me serenity and patience. I know I ll hear His voice if I just keep still....say a simple prayer. Bide within His care... MY FLESH IS FOOD INDEED (2012) from an Ambrosian chant and John 6:55-56 Those who eat My flesh and drink My blood Dwell in Me, and I in them. Those who eat My flesh and drink My blood Dwell in Me, and I in them. NEXT BEST THING (2007) Do the NEXT BEST THING. Do the NEXT BEST THING. Whatever else you may do today, Be sure to do the NEXT BEST THING. When I am lost and the road is unsure, I pray for light from above. Whatever cost for me to endure In the warmth of my sweet Lord s love. When I am down and the day seems long, I pray that I might abide. Rolling along with a simple song, Like the ocean with its tide. When I am blue and the skies seem gray, I pray for someone to love. Paying my due for just this day - For the peace of the snow, white dove. O COME, THOU PRINCE OF PEACE (2012) O come, O COME, THOU PRINCE OF PEACE, bring Thy redeeming love. O come, O COME, THOU PRINCE OF PEACE, a gift from God above. When God sent down His angel s charge to bring forth Mary s son, He promised Joseph endless love, the Prince of Peace to come. God sent them then to Bethlehem to bear the holy child, And in a lowly cattle shed found shelter from the wild. There with a manger for a bed, young Jesus came to life, With gentle Joseph at the side of his beloved wife. Then came three wise men from the east to seek the living Lord. While following a brilliant star, they sought God s promised word. They brought with them their gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh, Then bowed there at sweet Mary s side in reverence to her. While shepherds tended in the hills, an angel came to say: Go down, go down to Bethlehem, for Christ is born this day! They found Him in a manger bare with glory all around, Then left to go and spread the news, their joyous words resound: The Lord is come, the Prince of Peace, the gift from God above. O come, O COME, THOU PRINCE OF PEACE, who brings His endless love. Our sins replace with God s own grace, and fill our hearts with joy. We thank Thee, Father, for this gift of this most holy boy. ONE MORE SOUL IN HEAVEN TONIGHT (2013) There's one more soul that You've called away. And now she's gone across, leaving us to grieve our loss. She left us on a peaceful day in May. A gentle soul who warmed with her smile. Your angels overjoyed, leaving us to feel the void. She's walking on ahead that final mile. We thank Thee, dear Father, for this most precious gift - You let us bide within her glowing light. We pray Thee, dear Father, her spirit to uplift. This blessed soul has left us behind To mourn the space her absence has made. She leaves behind her love, as she joins the Lord above. She leads the way so we won't be afraid. We thank Thee, dear Father, for this most precious gift - You let us bide within her glowing light. We pray Thee, dear Father, her spirit to uplift. We thank Thee, dear Father, for this Thy guiding light. 32

OPEN UP THE DOORS (2013) OPEN UP THE DOORS, OPEN THE UP DOORS. Open up to leave behind my sin. OPEN UP THE DOORS, OPEN UP THE DOORS. Open up and let this sinner in. Such a simple doorway to redemption Opened up to let this sinner in. There where God would never hold exemption, There where I could leave behind my sin. Such a simple pathway to salvation, Marked for me to travel in The Way. Moments of Thy holy revelation, Time to teach my heart and mouth to say: Such a simple highway up to heaven Where the streets and lanes are paved in gold. There my soul will bide with Thee forever. Never shall I leave again the fold. TAKE ME DOWN TO THE RIVERSIDE (2013) TAKE ME DOWN TO THE RIVERSIDE, There to wash my sins away. TAKE ME DOWN TO THE RIVERSIDE, There to wash my sins away. Those who came to Jordan's bank Heard John the Baptist say, "Now, gather ye, repent your sins. "Prepare for Him the way." Jesus came from Galilee And seeking Brother John, Ignoring John's unworthiness, He bade him suffer on. And then when the deed was done, And He was back on shore, The Spirit came down like a dove, And heaven's light did pour. Each we be a child of God, No matter young or old. For all, this holy sacrament Will bring you to the fold. THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD (2011) THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD To make the wounded whole. THERE IS A BALM IN GILEAD To heal the sin-sick soul. Sometimes I feel discouraged And think my work's in vain, But the the Holy Spirit Revives my soul again. Don't ever feel discouraged For Jesus is your friend. And if you look for knowledge, He'll ne'er refuse to lend. If you can't preach like Peter, If you can't preach like Paul, Just tell the love of Jesus, And say he died for all. Notational Notes The songbook is presented in leadsheet form - sufficient for musical settings which are improvisatory or spontaneous, but often confusing for classically prepared musicians and choristers accustomed to literal realizations of the basic elements of melody, harmony, lyric, and structure. To make this music as widely accessible as possible, full realizations in various forms hymnal-choral harmony, SATB parts, piano/vocal sheetmusic will ultimately be be offered. Following is the hymnal-choral rendering of Lord, We Would Have Heard You. Other songs are similarly available on the website. As a footnote, commonly in the Baroque period, keyboard parts were merely notated with a figured bass (a bass part to which Arabic numbers have been added to indicate the intervals of the accompanying harmonies, also known as thoroughbass). The harpsichordist would read from the cello or bassoon part so notated, improvising the harmonies with figurations, motives and counter-melodies. In the modern era, most of these parts have been formally transcribed and fixed, and few modern classical keyboardists are comfortable working merely from the thoroughbass. 33
