INSPIRED WORD August 16, 2017 We gather together, those who come before and those who come after. Lord, we just lift Your name on high and give You all of our challenges, all of our joys. And we ask that You be present to us, to heal the broken, sand the rough edges, and let us know that You love us beyond measure, and help us to respond with love in return. All in Jesus precious name. Amen. God is good. All the time. All the time. God is good. That s His nature. Wow! We welcome You, Lord, and we just ask for You to pour forth Your Holy Spirit upon this place tonight. Lord, we want that Holy Spirit tonight. We want to make changes in our hearts. Empower us. Lord, we re asking You to release those gifts tonight in word of wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits, faith, healing and miracles, interpretation of tongues, and prophesy. Can you say amen? Do you believe that? Do you want that? Alright! We need it to evangelize, O Lord. Let us be missionaries of Your love. EXHORTATION / In Jesus, there is deliverance, isn t there? In Jesus, there is healing, isn t there? So when Jesus walks through this assembly tonight, just be open. Let Him touch you in the way you need to be touched, and we ll pray more for that later. So Lord, we re open as You pour forth Your Spirit on us. We ask that Spirit just to have His way, Lord, have Your way in this place tonight, Holy Spirit. Have Your way, have Your way. Let Your anointing come, Lord. Let Your anointing come, Lord. Father, we just pray and exalt Your holy name. We just worship You and glorify You. We just ask that You would be glorified in our praise tonight as we lift our voices before You and we glorify You and exalt You and magnify Your holy name. For You alone are worthy, worthy of all honor, and worthy of all glory, worthy of all praise. Hosanna to the Most High God. O King of kings, righteous is the King, worthy is His name. Worthy are You, Lord, worthy of all praise. We

praise You, exalt You, and magnify Your name. Glory to the King, glory to the holy risen Lamb of God. Worthy are You, Lord. Two thousand years plus ago, You walked the land, showing up when Your people needed You the most. God, people need You now. And we ask that You show up and walk in power here tonight too. We trust in faith that You are real and that You are present and that You are holy and that You want to be in relationship and that You do love us. Come, O Lord, set us free. SCRIPTURE Psalm 5:11-12: Let all those rejoice and put their trust in you. Let them ever shout for joy because you defend them. Be joyful in you for you, O Lord, will bless the righteous with favor. You will surround them with a shield. And then from Psalm 9:1-2: I will praise you, Lord, O Lord, with my whole heart. I will tell of your marvelous deeds. I will rejoice and be glad in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. Lord, we re here to do that, to sing praise to Your holy name, to glorify You and to show it joyfully, to let our praise out, because You are worthy, worthy, Lord. And Lord, we proclaim Your greatness here. We proclaim Your majesty here. We proclaim Your glory here. We proclaim Your strength here. We proclaim Your love here. SHARING I was listening to a Christian station and I m not sure what the name of it is, but they were having a fundraiser for kids, and he was relating a story about a young boy who had walked in with his piggy bank, and it was rattling with all the change and dollar bills he had in it. And the boy walked up to the table and proceeded to empty out all the coins first, and then he started getting all the dollar bills. And he goes, Don t empty out your bank; what you gave is enough. And the boy said, No, I want to do this. And he said, Well, if you empty everything, how are you going to replenish that little piggy bank? My father will provide for me, said the boy. So if we empty ourselves, the Father will provide for us. SCRIPTURE / From John 10:9-10: I am the gate, and anyone who enters through me will be safe. Such a one will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full. Lord, we just claim that for ourselves. It s not about prosperity or about poverty. It s about knowing that You re for us, and if we re truly in You, then our lives are full and that fullness spills over into those around us,

and they become part of Your pasture, and their lives are spilled over into us. God, help us to go in and out of that gate with confidence and peace. WORD OF KNOWLEDGE / SENSE / PROPHECY The Lord was showing me, at least one person, maybe more, is in a struggle, quite the struggle, and feel weakened, like their prayers aren t being answered, and to further remind you that He has never forsaken you or the situation ever, and that He is working all things out for good. But the battle belongs to the Lord, and we can stand in the gap and pray, and we can keep our eyes on Him, not on the battle for that is His. That is Mine to take care of. But if you keep your eyes on Me, just on Me, you will not feel so weary. You will not feel worn out. You ll not feel discouraged in the situations. Whether it s financial, family, illness, whatever it may be, the Lord wants you to know that He has it in control. And He loves you beyond all measure. And He does not want you to carry that burden because the burden is not yours and you have had complete worrying and struggling and thinking of every single thing you can possibly do, and the Lord says, Let go, let Me, and you shall see the victory. CONFIRMATION / WORD OF KNOWLEDGE I ve got to confirm that because the very thing that I heard when we were singing that song is that there s somebody in here that the chains just need to come off. EXHORTATION Okay, if that s you and you want special prayer, just raise your hand right now. Follow that grace and don t worry. Can you guys stand up so that we can see you? Those people that can really attest in their spirit that that word was for them tonight, step out here so that we can pray with you. Okay, so what happened here is that the Lord gave a word of knowledge that these folks are in need of prayer. Therefore, grace will be poured forth into that situation tonight. God wants to touch you in that situation right now. So we re going to take time right now to minister to that situation from that word. IMAGE / SCRIPTURE / PROPHECY For everyone who received that prayer, when Sue started to give her word, the image that I saw was of person who was riding into battle but their armor was way too heavy and way too large and the weapon was ineffective. And then the Lord brought to mind this scripture, and this is what He wants you to know, that this is the God who fights for you. It s from Revelation 19:11-16: Then I saw heaven open, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True. It is with justice that he judges and fights his battles. His eyes were like a flame of fire and he wore many crowns on his head. He had a name written on him that no one but himself knows what it is. His name is The Word of God. The armies of heaven follow him, riding on white horses and dressed in clean white linens. Out of his mouth came a sharp sword with which he would smite the nations. He will rule over them and tread the wine press of the fury of

Almighty God. (This is what He wants you to know.) On his robe and on his thigh was written the name King of kings and Lord of lords. And tonight Lord, we have been praising You, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, and if you stepped forward for prayer, He says, Don t worry about the battle armor. I am the King of kings, and I am the Lord of lords, and I am the One who fights for you. Spirit of God, we welcome You. SCRIPTURE / SHARING / SENSE From James 1:2-8: My brethren, count it all joy, when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. And let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For if that man purported that he will receive anything from the Lord, he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. I have to just say that this is a scripture that I ve struggled with a lot, in the midst of the battle. Count it all joy, Lord? I m miserable. Talking about joy? I don t know what to do anymore. Things are certainly not going my way. Count it all joy? Despite all of our feelings, despite the circumstances, despite everything joy. It s like God is challenging us to count it joyful because He is strong and He s the strongest warrior. So I just looked at it as a testing, a testing of our faith that God is going to come through in this. Well, so far in my own life, He certainly has, time and time again. Maybe not in my time, certainly many times not in the way I thought it should be, but looking back, it was the truth. Just count it joy, because you know that God, the Almighty Creator of all things, He has it in control. But for letting go and surrendering, that is it wasn t easy for me. And I still bump up against that brick wall. But it s just a reminder. I think that s why He gave me this scripture to share because it s a reminder. No matter what we re going through, God is good all the time. And He will see us through till the end and He will see that situation to the best possible ending that it could have, for He knows the people that are involved and He loves them more dearly than we do. And maybe it s someone we can t even stand, but God loves them, and so if they re giving us tribulation, not that it s easy, but we should count it joy, because it is a challenge. It s a challenge from God to us. Will you trust Me in this? Will you let Me have My time and do it My way? And just be joyful. (Testimony) EXHORTATION You know, we pray here for the baptism in the Holy Spirit and that s a grace. And that grace comes when you open yourself to the Lord, to the lordship of Jesus Christ in your life. You say,

Lord, I want to surrender to you. I want You to be Lord of my life. I want to follow You. And Lord, I want to be filled afresh with Your Holy Spirit that I may be filled with Your gifts of word of wisdom, word of knowledge, of prophecy, tongues, interpretation, to use those gifts for building Your kingdom. So Jesus, I want to surrender to you and I want the fullness of Your Holy Spirit poured forth upon me in power. If in fact you have never been prayed with for baptism of the Holy Spirit, and you want to be prayed with for baptism in the Holy Spirit, a team in back can pray with you for that. The invitation is open. SHARING Thank you for the sharing about joy in the midst of struggle. I struggle with that too. I bring it to God. Lord, where is that joy? You promised joy always. The answer was that you don t find the feeling because the feeling is fleeting. Where is the joy then? Sometimes He answers, you know, with scripture or He answers in song. So I m just going to read you some words, you might know this song. I m just going to read some of the lyrics about the joy that God is. God is a river; feelings come and go. ( God is A River by Peter Mayer) God is a river, not just a stone God is a wild, raging rapid And a slow, meandering flow God is a deep and narrow passage And a peaceful, sandy shoal God is a river Swimmer let go So I m going with the flow now These relentless twists and bends Acclimating to the motion And a sense of being led And this river s like my body now It carries me along Through the ever-changing scenes And by the rocks that sing this song / EXHORTATION So Lord, we give You thanks and praise. Spirit of God, we thank You for Your ministry here tonight. And what we experienced here tonight is an evangelistic prayer meeting, when the power of God comes and ministers among His people. And that is what we are striving to become more and more. We step out in faith and ask the Spirit to come. And so we invite people to come and experience that, to be touched or healed, or drawn closer to the Lord, and baptized in the Holy Spirit. Just thank God for being here tonight in power and thank you for being here as part of the community.
