Our visit will be brief so as to respect your need to rest. From the beginning, she has obeyed the commission of Christ to go out and preach the Gospel to everyone in the world. Through the Missionary Cooperation Plan appeal, our diocese organizes support for the missions. This year the Missionary Society of St. Paul is assigned to our Church and mission appeal will be done on Sunday July 26 th and 27 th. The priest doing the appeal is Rev. Nduka Uzor, MSP. The Missionary Society of St. Paul (MSP) was founded by Dominic Cardinal Ekandem and established by the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria on Mission Sunday, 1977. There are now 270 priests of the order working in nine countries of Africa, (South Africa, Malawi, Botswana, Cameroon, Liberia, Chad, The Gambia, South Sudan, Nigeria), Grenada and Bahamas in the West Indies, the United States, England, Sweden, Italy, Canada, Germany and Ireland. Members of this Society are working in seven parishes in our archdiocese including St. Peter the Apostle parish. The MSP needs funds for: 1) assisting in the care and rehabilitation of orphans and adults devastated by war and the AIDS pandemic in South Sudan and Malawi; 2) training of 100 seminarians, your future priests and 3) supporting priests in the founding/building of new churches. Your generous giving will ensure that the message of Christ s love reaches the poorest of the poor in the world. May God bless you! There will be a second collection on July 26 th and 27 th to support the Missionary Society of St. Paul.
