Exegetical Familiarization Tour Shoresh Study Tours Itinerary A Ministry of CMJ Israel February 5 17, 2018 Hosted by: Rev. Daryl Fenton, CMJ USA Director This FAM (familiarization) tour of Israel is primarily designed to introduce potential future tour leaders to the ministry of Shoresh Study Tours, and to prepare them to lead future trips if they feel so called. The secondary purpose of this tour is to give teachers and preachers of Scripture new exegetical insights. We will examine the historical, geographical, cultural and linguistic context of the Bible as we move from the Negev to Galilee in order to gain a Hebraic perspective of our faith. We will pay special attention to the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament) and how its themes are used and developed in the New Testament. Equally, we will focus on Jesus of Nazareth to come to an understanding of ways we can better present his life and teachings to our communities. We will also ask ourselves how can we create a culture of Bible in our churches so that the word of God remains vital and relevant in each generation. Bring a Bible and a large, empty notebook. Be prepared to join the discussion as we learn from Scripture, the Land and each other. ABC Christian Cruise and Travel Rockford, IL 61103 (815) 969-8123 goabc@goabctravel.com
