The Lord s Day January 27, 2019 10:15 a.m. Greetings and Announcements * The Call to Worship Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29) * Prayer of Invocation * Song of Praise Come People of the Risen King Come people of the risen King, who delight to bring Him praise. Come, all, and tune your hearts to sing to the Morning Star of grace. From the shifting shadows of the earth we will lift our eyes to Him, where steady arms of mercy reach to gather children in. Rejoice! Rejoice! Let ev ry tongue rejoice! One heart, one voice, O Church of Christ, rejoice! Come those whose joy is morning sun, and those weeping through the night. Come, those who tell of battles won, and those struggling in the fight. For His perfect love will never change, and His mercies never cease, but follow us through all our days with the certain hope of peace. Come, young and old from ev ry land, men and women of the faith. Come, those with full or empty hands find the riches of His grace. Over all the world His people sing; shore to shore we hear them call the Truth that cries through ev ry age: Our God is all in all! x2 2
Reading of Scripture 1 Samuel 11:1-15 Prayer Confession *Assurance of Pardon But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Titus 3:4-7) * Hymn #32 Great is Thy Faithfulness Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not; as Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be. Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see: All I have needed Thy hand hath provided Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon, and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness to Thy great faithfulness, mercy, and love. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide, Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! 3
*Confession of Faith The Nicene Creed We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father; by whom all things were made; who, for us men and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried, and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures;, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets; and we believe in one catholic and apostolic church; we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins; and we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. Song Offertory Prayer, Music, & Offering His Mercy is More What love could remember no wrongs we have done, omniscient all knowing, He counts not their sum Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore, our sins they are many, His mercy is more Praise the Lord! His mercy is more! Stronger than darkness, new every morn Our sins they are many, His mercy is more What patience would wait as we constantly roam, what Father so tender is calling us home He welcomes the weakest, the vilest the poor, our sins they are many, His mercy is more What riches of kindness He lavished on us, His blood was the payment, His life was the cost We stood neath a debt we could never afford, our sins they are many, His mercy is more (x2) Pastoral Prayer 4

* Song of Response Before You I Kneel (A Worker s Prayer) Before You I kneel, my Master and Maker; to offer the work of my hands. For this is the day you ve given Your servant; I will rejoice and be glad. For the strength I have to live and breathe, for each skill Your grace has given me; For the needs and opportunities that will glorify Your great Name. Before You I kneel, and ask for Your goodness to cover the work of my hands. For patience and peace to shape all my labor; Your grace for thorns in my path. Flow within me like a living stream; wear away the stones of pride and greed, till Your ways are dwelling deep in me and a harvest of life is grown. Before You we kneel, our Master and Maker; establish the work of our hands. And order our steps to seek first Your Kingdom in ev ry small and great task. May we live the Gospel of Your grace; serve Your purpose in our fleeting days; then our lives will bring eternal praise and all glory to Your great Name. * The Benediction Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word.
