AMA Charter 1605 November 2008 T H E P R O P W A S H Club Officers President- Bud Brinkley Vice President - Butch Nye Secretary - Gary Baumgartner Treasurer - Dick Pursley Editor/Webmaster - Allen Rugg What You re lookin at Butch s Tidbits (Vice President) 2 Gary s Gossip (Secretary) 3 Gary's Gossip continues 4 Dick s Doin s (Treasurer) 5 Buds Workshop Pics 6 Got something you would like to share? Send Allen your stories, product reviews, or anything that would be of interest to the club. During October we lost a young member of our club, Kyle Foote, in a tragic auto accident. He was on his way back to school after participating in our B.E.S.T. meet during the weekend. We are all at a loss for words of sympathy for Terry, Sharon, and the rest of Kyle s family. Many members watched Kyle grow up in our club and become a fine young man in his own right. I particularly remember his exceptional flying skills during the Bomber Field meet this summer. Kyle was always quick to smile and offer help, and he was trusted by many modelers to take their newest creations to the skies for Bud Brinkley the first time. Life is fragile and we can rest in comfort knowing that God has made a special place for Kyle. I know that I speak for all of the club members when I say that our thoughts and prayers are with Kyle s family. During the November club meeting, I got distracted and forgot to ask Kirk Jensen for his summary report of the B.E.S.T. meet. I know personally how hard Kirk works all year to make the meet a huge success that it has become. My personal apologies to Kirk for my oversight, and he will give us a full report during the December meeting. The club has elected two new officers for 2009, and the others will be serving another term. Doug Van Orman will be our new Club President, and Eric DeSardi will be our new Vice President. Dick Pursley, Gary Baumgartner, and Allen Rugg will be serving their respective positions for another year. Please take the time to welcome Doug and Eric and thank them for volunteering their time. The other officers will be glad to take your complaints as usual! (Just kidding!) Start digging around in your junk and look through those dusty parts boxes as the Barnstormer annual swap meet is fast approaching! We had a great turnout last year and a lot of items changed hands quickly. The swap meet will be held during the upcoming December meeting. Till next time Bud Brinkley BUD S BROODIN S ( F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N T )

November 2008 Page 5 Hey Folks, Dick s Doin s (Treasury Report) The treasury department is looking pretty good. Membership is strong at 178. However, there are still almost 30 who have NOT renewed. I sent out second renewal notices to Dick Pursley these folks late last week. Hopefully we will get all of them to respond though historically we loose a few every year. I would like to extend my personal thanks to the outgoing club officers. We had a great year and can attribute a lot of that success to the hard work of these guys. Thanks Bud and Butch. The incoming president and vice-president have a hard act to follow. Welcome Doug and Eric. Dick Pursley Hey guys, This is YOUR newsletter. We want it to be something you enjoy getting.
