1 VOL. 12 NO. 13 APRIL 3, 2019 WHAT S INSIDE Easter Celebrations... 2 Easter EGGstravaganza... 3 Easter Sunday is now less than three weeks away. What a glorious opportunity it will be to invite unsaved and unchurched loved ones, friends, workmates, schoolmates, neighbors and even strangers. I will be preaching on the subject What if? That is, what if there is no resurrection from the dead? Paul addressed that bleak thought with the Christians at Corinth because there were those infiltrating the church who were teaching that there is no resurrection. Thankfully, Paul didn t have to leave it there. He was able to go from What if to But now. But now Christ HAS been raised from the dead! It is that blessed assurance that makes life worth living and robs the grave of its sting. We have just a couple of weeks to work at inviting people to join us. We will be ready and waiting for them to come. If we fill the Sanctuary to overflowing, we will have places for the overflow crowd in Heritage Hall. It will be important to try to fill every seat in the Sanctuary itself before we start going with overflow seating. At the same time, it would be glorious if every seat were filled at 9:00 a.m. in both the Sanctuary and Heritage Hall. The same message will be preached in both services and the music will be glorious in each. I want to encourage some of you to help us accommodate everyone who comes by choosing to worship at 11:11 at least on that day. The highest attendance we have ever had on Easter Sunday was 1,616. As we work together, pray together, and invite others, I believe we can surpass that all-time record worship attendance and see literally hundreds of people worshiping with us who have never joined with us before. Would you join me in praying and working to that end? Gary Dyer, Pastor John 3:30

4 JULY 29 - AUGUST 2 MONDAY FRIDAY, 9 AM 1 PM FRIDAY PERFORMANCE, 7 PM JAM Camp at Austin Baptist Church is only a little over 100 days away! I hope you will spread the word about our amazing drama and music camp that is scheduled for the end of the summer. We learn, rehearse, and present two musicals, one for (entering) K and 1st grade and one for (entering) 2nd through exiting 5th grade. Stephanie Rankin is writing the musical for the younger group. We have chosen The Agape League for the older group. During the week, the children have two rehearsals each day. Additionally, they rotate through classes in Bible, art, recreation, missions, and choreography. A healthy snack is provided each day. We also provide Tshirts and any costume or accessory needed. Online registration for students and volunteers will open on the Austin Baptist Church website on Monday, April 8. Older students who would like to audition for a speaking part or a solo may also sign up online. Auditions will be held on the dates listed below. If NONE of these dates or times is convenient, please contact me at dodiem@austinbaptistchurch.com. We can work out a different time. The Agape League is about super heroes whose super powers are the fruits of the Spirit. I think you will enjoy the costumes; and I know you will enjoy the music! AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD IN THE MUSIC SUITE ON THESE DATES: Sunday, May 5-1 pm to 2 pm Wednesday, May 8 6 pm to 7 pm Monday, June 24 12 pm to 1 pm (as soon as VBS is over)
5 I m totally convinced that God can do far more than we ever expect or imagine. I believe that s what Paul was teaching when he said, Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us (NIV, Eph. 3:20). Simply put, little is much when God is in it. Therefore, let s not forget the power of regular contributions even in small amounts. For example, if every worshiper gave one penny more than pledged each week for three years, there would be an additional $1,248 (800 worshipers times $.01 times 156 weeks) reduced from our debt s principal. Imagine the power of $1.00 = $124,800; or $5.00 = $624,000. Like some others, our family s contributions will not be classified as earth-shaking, nor mountain-busting, but they will be made regularly, and they will be faithful. When added to the whole, they ll add up exponentially. On top of that, when Jehovah Jireh (Gen. 22:14) provides unexpected funds like the $28.70 from the scrap metal load pictured (on the left), then we ll humbly give it back to the Lord with the expectation that He will multiply it just like the loaves and fish (John 6:1-13). Our Lord has been faithful to us; let s be proven faithful to Him. Humbly yours, Gerald Aalbers Bible Teacher, Beginnings BFG
