After hours of driving for 261 km, you reach Gyantse.
Day 07 : Sightseeing & drive to Shigatse (3900m/12792ft) -90km The attractions of Gyantse are Gyantse Dzong and Kumbum. Gyantse Dzong, historical forts built in the 14th century. After enjoying and exploring Gyantse, you will take a 90 km drive to Shigatse. After a brief observation of Shalu monastery, you drive further to Shigatse, the second largest city of Tibet. Day 08 : Drive to Sakya, Visit Natang Monastery en route-150km Today, we will explore Shigatse, in other words, we will do sightseeing. You will also visit Tashilhunpo Monastery. Then we drive and cross the Gyamtso La pass. Further, we drive to Sakya Monastery, where you can see the largest book in the world, written in gold. In the evening time, we reach Shegar. As the route opens into plains, many monasteries and camps of nomadic herders become visible as we head to Sakya. Day 09 : Today, we will explore Shigatse, in other words, we will do sightseeing.
