FROM THE PASTOR S DESK Joy! Joy! Joy! INSTRUMENT RATED I am the Lord that healeth thee. Exodus 15:26 Instrument rated for sickness. Many a healthy person has been cut down in the prime of life by cancer, heart attack, stroke, or some other debilitating disease. But there s a way to be ready for this storm, a way not paved with fear, a way that has so prepared you that you can hear the diagnosis of your doctor and still have a sense of God s peace in your heart. You know what your instrument panel, the Bible says about it. You know what to do, how to act, and what to say. You ve been prepared for this moment. Now, if a pilot hasn t faithfully maintained his aircraft, then it will go down in the storm no matter what his instrument panel tells him. So if you have taken good care of your body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, then you can go to God with confidence, standing on His Word and asking Him to heal you. The Bible says, He healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses (Matthew 8:16-17 NKJV). You say, I know some good Christians who prayed for healing and didn t get it. That s true. And the most spiritually mature among us can t explain why. God stamps some things: Will explain later! But as long as you re living you must stand on the Word of God, which says, I am the Lord that healeth thee. Love and Joy, Pastor Dent Eventually we will all die of something, but you don t have to die before your time. God has promised us long life (Psalm 91:16).

7) And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. 8) And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? 9) Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 10) Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. HEALTH CARE MINISTRY Tips for May By Sister Theresa McGilvery What Every Woman Should Know About Thyroid Disorders Many women suffer from thyroid disorders and there are several ways to get a reading on your thyroid. A blood test is critical to getting a proper read on how your thyroid is functioning. Hyperthyroidism is a thyroid disorder that affects 1 in 100 Americans, according to the National Endocrine and Metabolic Diseases Information Services. When your TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone) levels are very low, while other thyroid hormone levels (serum throxine, or T4, and triiodothyronine, or T3) way up. The Thyroid Gland Keeps the Body in Harmony: Your thyroid gland, located just below your neck in front of your larynx, secretes hormones through your bloodstream to every cell and every organ in your body. This tiny, 2 inch gland regulates your body temperature, keeps your brain thinking clearly, your heart pumping rhythmically, and basically maintains harmony among all organs in your body, and when you have thyroid disease, your thyroid gland can either become overactive or underactive. If your thyroid doesn t secrete enough hormones into your blood, you may suffer hypothyroidism and a slowing down of bodily functions. This could cause more serious complications, like high cholesterol and heart trouble. Initial Symptoms of hypothyroidism might include: Fatigue, weight gain, cold intolerance, dry or brittle hair, memory problems, irritability and depression, higher cholesterol levels, slower heart rate, constipation, or sluggish bowel. Hyperthyroid symptoms could include: Weight loss, heat intolerance, frequent bowl movements, tremors, nervousness and irritability, thyroid gland enlargement, sleep disturbances and fatigue. The doctor will palpate, or feel, your thyroid, looking for enlargement or nodules (which can very rarely be a sign of Thyroid cancer). Risk factors for thyroid disease include: Diabetes or another autoimmune disorder, a history of radiation treatment to the thyroid area, a family history of thyroid disorder, hormonal changes, such as those that occur in pregnancy or menopause, gender: Women constitute 80 percent of all thyroid cases. Age: incidence of hypothyroidism is higher in menopausal women than in very young women. If you think you might have thyroid dysfunction, ask your primary care doctor to evaluate your symptoms and get a blood test. If you re not satisfied with the care you re receiving from your primary care doctor and still suspect a thyroid condition might be to blame for your symptoms, see an endocrinologist. This type of specialist is trained to understand the nuances of thyroid dysfunction. FELICIDADES! HONGERA! COMPLIMENTI!
