Community Spotlight From Reverend Scott Lambert We put the year 2017 into the history books. For many of us, 2017 was a challenging year. I am reminded every time that I face a challenge in my life of God s promise. Scripture teaches us in Hebrews 13:5 that Jesus will never leave or forsake us. There are times in our lives that we feel like we can t face anymore, and there is truth to that because we can t. But listen, We can do all things through Christ which strengthen us. Philippians 4:13. As each of us go into this New Year, let us be comforted with the fact that Christ is right here with us. God has great things in store for all of us. I am excited about looking forward to the future with each of you. Being a part of the Riverwood family is a true blessing to me. I want each of you to know whether you re a Resident or staff member, I am here for you day or night. God Bless. January Fun Facts The Romans named it January after Janus, the God of gateways. Janus had two heads so he could look in both directions, back at the old year and forward towards the new year, at the same time. More couples separate or divorce in January than in any other month. While many, if not most, gemstones are mined underground, garnets (January s birthstone) are not. Garnets are found as small pebbles in streams and water ways. These pebbles are found in many places around the world, including North and South America, Australia, and India. Welcome New Residents! Happy Birthday!
