We had many successful events and fundraisers and a lot of opportunities to have a good time. Thanks in large part to our Administrator, Mac McClurg, we earned our 13 th consecutive 5 star award, and the crown jewel of them all, the PREMIER LODGE AWARD. Thanks, Mac and all who played a part in these achievements. On a sad note, we lost some really special friends this year, but we also were fortunate to welcome super new ones to our family. 2016 promises to bring more of the same, so our future looks bright. We re pleased to welcome Steve Wilson as the newest member of our Board of Officers as he has accepted the office of Lodge Prelate. Also, we are happy to announce that James Haas has been appointed as Lodge Sergeant at Arms. Thanks to both of these members for stepping up to serve our Lodge. We ve completed all of our card tournaments for this year, but we ll be starting cribbage again in January. Also, we re testing the water to see if there is enough interest for other games. If you might be interested in playing Dominos or Darts, let us know. If sufficient interest is there, we ll try to get some other tournaments going. If you have any other thoughts, pass them on to us. It s our Lodge, so let s try to make it enjoyable for everyone. The Blue and Gold is sponsoring a Lodge Christmas party on the 12 th. It will begin with a Ham and Yams Dinner & will then be followed by Karaoke and what I m told is a White Elephant gift exchange. I guess that means we ll have a Lodge full of very large Pachyderms celebrating Christmas with us. Sounds kinda messy to me, but I ll sure be there to see it. Please support our Women of the Moose as they host a Christmas Gift event on the 19 th for Children and Grandchildren of our members. Be sure your kid s names are on the list if you d like them to participate. We are not having any special events during the Christmas weekend, but the social quarters will be open for business so come in any time to share the Christmas spirits. Our New Year s Party on the 31 st should be a lot of fun. If you re no longer a night person, you ll enjoy this party. We ll be celebrating the New Year on New York Time when the Ball drops in Times Square. As long as we have survivors, we ll also celebrate it at 12:00 o clock on Chicago Time, then Denver time, and finally on Fernley Time. At 11:00 o clock (Fernley Time) the Lodge will provide a New Years Breakfast, prepared by Shelah and friends consisting of eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, maybe even some black eyed peas for Good Luck. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All. I look forward to seeing you 2 around the Lodge. Fraternally, Larry

W. O. T. M. CHAPTER #2150 Tis the season. For many of us, our favorite time of year has finally arrived. This time of year seems to bring out the best in everyone! As a child, Christmas was a time of anticipation and excitement. Seemed like when December arrived, it took forever for Dec. 24 th to arrive. And that night, could it have been any longer? Going to bed earlier, so Christmas morning would get there sooner and then not being able to go to sleep. Then getting up so early, you were afraid Santa had forgotten you, so you just go peek to make sure. And he didn t forget! Now there s no way to go back to bed and you know you have to wait until everyone else is up before the gifts can be unwrapped. The memories of Childhood Christmases are some of the very best. Then we become parents ourselves, could Christmas get any better! After spending a long night helping Santa, once the children got to sleep, is there anything more fun than seeing the joy and wonder in our own Children s eyes as they behold the bounty under the tree. Again, memories to be treasured! For most of us, Christmas is different now, our children have children and for some of us, our grandchildren have children. Christmas is still a time for family, and as we have gotten older our immediate families have been spread across the country and sometimes it s hard to get together for that day. We will be in communication with them and we know their day will be joyous, because of the teachings and traditions that we have handed down to them (just another blessing of the season). For those of us who find ourselves in Fernley, NV this wonderful season, remember, we have another family right here at the Lodge. Take some time out of this busy season to come down and fellowship with us. We too, are making some wonderful memories. Here s a suggested gift list for us this season: TO YOUR ENEMY...FORGIVENESS, TO YOUR OPPONENT...TOLERANCE. TO A FRIEND... YOUR HEART. TO A CUSTOMER... SERVICE. TO ALL MEN...CHARITY. TO EVERY CHILD... A GOOD EXAMPLE TO YOURSELF...RESPECT -Author Unknown I m so glad you are all a part of my Lodge family and I wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Sincerely, Shelah 3 FERNLEY - A FIVE STAR LODGE - 13 CONSECUTIVE YEARS To view our newsletter in full color, please go to: www.ca-nvmoose.org Or-- lodge2468.moosepages.org IMPORTANT WEB SITES: Fernley Moose Lodge: lodge2468.moosepages.org Moose International: www.mooseintl.org California Nevada Moose www.ca-nvmoose.org 12

FROM THE ADMINISTRATOR By: Mac McClurg 11-22-08 Memories of a Christmas As we stood and watched the snowflakes Fall softly to the ground We admired our Christmas tree With our children gathered around. We couldn t help but notice How much they had grown. And suddenly we realized They d soon be on their own. They had waited all year long Just for that special day. When Santa would arrive In his nice new shiny sleigh. O.K. children, it s off to bed Cause Santa ll be here soon We tucked them in their little beds And quietly left their room. YEARS LATER We both looked out our window And snow was falling down It brought back old memories When our kids were still around. And now we re standing here alone With beautiful memories of the past The special joys of Christmas time Are memories that will forever last. 11 4

The Funny Red Suit Month PLANNED ACTIVITIES I know that is kind of a funny way to start a letter about our activities but our kids in Moose Heart, and our kids and grandchildren look forward to this every year. I guess what I am saying we are fortunate to be able to spend time here at home but we are so very lucky to have all our children in Moose Heart for that is their home and we are their family. We need to remember what Christmas means to these kids. It is our day to make them feel special. Please remember to say a prayer for all of our kids in Moose Heart and in our homes. Our kids are going to be our leaders in the Christmas s yet to come. Moose Haven is where some of our great leaders in the Loyal Order of Moose now reside in their remaining years, knowing they have done everything they could to make an improvement to their Lodge s, please say a prayer for them, they are a part of our great Fraternity. Remember that Giving is better than receiving. Please check your calendar there are some changes this month because of Christmas. There will be Breakfast on the first three Sunday s and none on the 27 th. The 20 th the District meeting will be in Our Lodge with the WOTM bake sale and then a Christmas party. The King of Clubs drawing is every Monday with some kind of football tailgate food. Meetings for the LOOM remain the same. WOTM, your meeting calendar is a little different this month. There will be food on the first three Friday s and Saturday s. Saturday the 12 th the Blue and Gold will be meeting at 3:30 with Christmas dinner [Ham & Yams and all the fixins and Ladies we don t want you to be left out so we would appreciate your special desserts. The 19 th there will be a Kids Christmas gift presentation at 3pm for only member s kids & grandkids. The Social Quarters will be open the 24 th,25 th,26,27 th with no special activities. We will celebrate New Year s Eve on East Coast Time 9pm with Champagne and Karaoke. Terry and I wish all a Merry Christmas & Happy and safe New Year. THIS MONTH S THANK YOU PAGE THE BLUE AND GOLD CORNER The new officers elected at our meeting last month are as follows: Gary Fahl, Chairman - Joe Rigazio, Vice Chairman - Mac McClurg, Secretary. Merry Christmas Come join us on the 12 th. The Blue & Gold will host the annual Christmas party for the lodge. We will be cooking up some Ham, yams, Green bean casserole, croissants and of course some terrific desserts. Anyone wishing to bring a dessert for the party, please do so (especially cookies). Along with all this great food, we will have a White Elephant gift exchange. For those that do not know, a white elephant exchange works like this. Bring a wrapped gift, not to exceed $15.00, with you to the party. We will hand out numbers to all who participate. When your number is called, you can either pick a gift from the pile or you can look and see what the other people have already picked and steal that gift for yourself, making that person pick another gift from the pile. It can be a lot of fun, especially when it s a coveted gift. So get here early and get a seat. Page 9 THANKS TO OUR MEMBERS WHO HELPED MAKE 2015 A GREAT YEAR. MAY 2016 BE EVEN BETTER.
