The Mission Connection Committee is hosting this program and book orders may still be placed. The cost of the book is $20. Copies of the book will be available. If you have questions, contact Winnie Davies-Hancock following worship or at (248)593-8035 or at winsomeann@aol.com. USHERS AND COFFEE HOUR HOSTS NEEDED We are looking for ushers and coffee hour hosts. Sign-up sheets are in Fellowship Hall. EMPTY BOWLS LOOSE CHANGE COLLECTION The Mission Connection Empty Bowls loose change collection contributed for the rest of February and through March will be donated to the Presbytery of Detroit Hunger Ministries Program. At it s February meeting, the Mission Committee decided to change the recipient organization every other month with collections going to area food/meal-providing programs in our mission budget. We hope you will generously place your loose change into the bowl on the nametag table in the main hallway. Thank you. NORTHBROOK BOOK CLUB Please join the discussion of the non-fiction book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot on February 23 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library. If you are in the medical field, you may know about the growth of Henrietta's cancer cells (named HeLa) over decades and used for medical research and discoveries. We would love to hear your perspective! Her cells are still alive today!! New faces and opinions are always welcome. HELP US OPEN WIDE THE DOORS (LITERALLY!) The Building and Grounds Committee needs your help to open the building and make it ready for worship on Sunday mornings. The work is simple yet so vital: opening gates, unlocking doors, turning on lights and clearing walkways so that we can worship together! With a few willing volunteers and the B&G crew, you only need to sign up for a few Sundays a year. It s a great way to serve the church and offer hospitality to all who come to worship. For more information about specifics, please talk to Brian Long or Michael Bauhof and sign up in Fellowship Hall. KNIT WITS will meet on Wednesday, February 25 at 7:00 pm. SENIOR SOUPER SUPPER will meet on Thursday, February 26 at 5:30 pm in the Library.

THANK YOU to all the members of Northbrook who took the time to send a note or card remembering our mother, Florence. It has meant so much to us. Your thoughtfulness is appreciated. Rick, Jayne and Debbie Smith THE BRUNCH BUNCH will head to the Orchard Grill in Sylvan Lake today following coffee hour. Come join us for great conversation and a yummy breakfast or lunch. The Grill is located at 2235 Orchard Lake Road between Middlebelt and Telegraph. Questions?? See Phil Owen. SAVE THE DATE Mark your calendars for March 15 and plan to have lunch at Northbrook while we raise funds for the Youth Mission Trip June 21 28. The menu includes Sloppy Joes, mac and cheese, cole slaw, and cake pops. Lunch will be $10 per person or $25 per family and will be available to go. This year s trip will take church youth to central Pennsylvania for work projects. Sign up in Fellowship Hall. MULTI-GENERATIONAL MISSION EVENT On Sunday, March 8 following worship, and after a brief time to enjoy your coffee "hour" time of food and fellowship, we will get started on a project for Gleaners in Fellowship Hall. We don't want to risk spilling coffee on the bags. We will be folding and sealing plastic grocery bags to be used for the Annual Letter Carriers' Food Drive for Gleaners. Come join this extended time for fellowship and the opportunity to live the love of Jesus Christ. If you will be able to help out, please see/contact Winnie Davies-Hancock.
