The Third Lye OR THE EYE SINGLE, AND THE COORDINATION OF THE CONSCIOUS, AND SUBCONSCIOUS MINDS by Doreal Part 1 Many of you have read the lectures that I have given on the third eye, the eye single or the pineal gland but forth e benefit of any who have not read them, I want to give a brief resume of some of the outstanding points relating to that third eye or eye single. The eye single is considered as being the gateway of liberation. It is situated at the approximate physical location of the pineal gland arising as an outgrowth of the third ventricle of the brain. The eye single or eye of the soul is referred to in every ancient philosophy and all occult teachings as that point where the ego, soul or consciousness manifests and contacts through and in the physical body. We know of course, that the gland itself is not the gateway but that in the occult anatomy of man it is exactly in the relative position of the pineal gland. It is a triangular or three aspect center which has three definite and distinct qualities. That is, - 1 -
it represents the inflow of the spiritual force or power; it represents the inflow of the intelligence and the w i s dom of the Divine Consciousness and the ego of man and it represents the controlling principle, laws and factors, which direct the activity of the higher occult laws and principles in man's astral and physical body. For that reason it is sometimes called more than just the gateway of liberation. It is called the gateway through which the soul manifests into the material world. In the Far East, we are taught that certain dominant factors of the mind are radiated to the pineal gland. That is, that it is in that gateway of liberation that the superconscious or soul mind reflects as in a mirror to cast it's shadow into the objective realm and there manifest as conscious or objective mind. We are taught that the conscious mind, that is, the mind which activates all of our waking and conscious moments is nothing more or less than a reflection of the superconscious mind of the ego or soul which is reflected as a still pool into the objective or conscious state. They say that that works exactly as does light passing through a prism. We know that light passing through a prism reflects seven rays of light from each of it's two triangular sides. That is true also of the mind center or gateway of liberation. By some it is called the prism of the soul. That is that prism - 2 -
through which the higher spiritual light reflects into the material body and which in turn reflects back into the universal mind and super-conscious mind of action,, the activities and actions of our material life. Me know that a great many exercises are given in occult schools including our own for the awakening of the eye of the soul and we know that many have worked conscientiously to try to bring about that opening. Though the individual student may, after a long time and concentrated activity the student may be able to awaken that third eye and though he may be able to liberate the powers of his higher self into the material world, yet, it is also a fact that the one who knows exactly the vibration rate at which it is vibrating he may intensify, and increase the vibration of that so that it becomes a more perfect reflecting mirror for the higher superconscious faculty to manifest through. We know it to be a fact that though the average student works very hard and conscientiously to open that third eye, the results are very seldom what is desired. The average student does not u n derstand the laws of vibration to a sufficient degree to be able to control to the very fine point necessary the vibrational ratio of that particular center. It is true that a great deal of arduous and intense study over a period of years -3-
may enable the student to gain that without any outside help by the teacher who knows that exactly. We have the student work by being able to intensify and v i brate that pineal gland in the exact octave that is necessary for perfect coordination between the higher self or manifest or objective consciousness. I remember that in my own work. The pineal gland, the subjective mind center is very closely, that is, the subjective mind center and the objective mind center are related. We are conscious in our conscious self of the functioning and control of our bodies but it is also true that the very highest consciousness that we can attain to is the one where we function entirely in the superconscious self. It is actually the radiating point for the power which is generated in the ego or consciousness of the individual and it is owing to the degree which that gateway is open as to how powerful the emanations of force and power that come forth may be. The third eye exists in every living human being. The third eye is there dormant, awaiting its awakening. In the East, the one who takes up the path of Light symbolically opens the third eye by removing all the hair from the top of the head, but that is only a symbol. The third eye is opened from within. Dear Students and Friends, NEWSLETTER As we write, we are ushering in the first day of October. The panorama of fall colors is still with us and it would be a scenic drive to the mountains for those who live close by, where the beautiful changing of the aspen trees might be witnessed. We have had many visitors recently, and we are always happy to meet and talk with them. Mr. Roland Buechner reported an enjoyable visit and will be back next summer. Mr. Rod Petty visited with us one afternoon last week. He joined the Brotherhood College and took his first lesson with him. People are seeking Spiritual Guidance and answers to many questions. Sven if one soul finds their true path into Wisdom and Light, we know that all our efforts are worthwhile. As Jesus the Christ stated, "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:33. The Brotherhood maintains two healing circles each week for those who need material or spiritual help. We want to send our help to those who ask, and work together to overcome the material problems. One was, "Gaining Entrance Into the Great White Lodge We become attached to ideas, and these littl things become Gods and Idols to us. These idols present great barriers and prevent our entrance into Shamballa. In meditation and soul searching, we again regain that Clear Light and Truth.
