The mission of the Church encompasses peoples of varying races, languages, social circumstances, and cultures; therefore, each Sister in her evangelizing efforts is ever receptive in spirit and responsive in action to all persons she meets. FW #42.2
Context The present socio-cultural reality and its impact on the people we serve invites us as IHMs: To grow in a deeper understanding and a renewed willingness to cultivate a spirit of racial inclusion, cultural sensitivity and awareness of persons with disabilities To be aware of the dynamics of racism and better understand the effects on its victims To commit to the emerging needs and new opportunities for ministry
Recommendation 1 We entrust to the Implementation Committee the work of the Inclusion and Cultural Sensitivity subcommittee.
