It is not obligatory to do so. Gathering Opening Voluntary Prelude Robert Guthrie Entrance Hymn 673 God, Whose Almighty Word ITALIAN HYMN Confession and Forgiveness P Blessed be the holy Trinity, the one who fashions us, the one who heals us, the one who reforms us again and again. P Let us confess our sin, calling for God s transforming power. Silence for reflection and self-examination. P Source of all life, C we confess that we have not allowed your grace to set us free. We fear that we are not good enough. We hear your word of love freely given to us, yet we expect others to earn it. We turn the church inward, rather than moving it outward. Forgive us. Stir us. Reform us to be a church powered by love, willing to speak for what is right, act for what is just, and seek the healing of your whole creation. Amen. P God hears our cry and sends the Spirit to change us and to empower our lives in the world. Our sins are forgiven, God s love is unconditional, and we are raised up as God s people who will always be made new, in the name of Jesus Christ. Greeting P The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. C And also with you. Kyrie >

Your Faithful Ones for July will go to support the ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission (YAGM). This program invites ELCA young adults ages 21-29 into a transformative, year-long journey in international service in one of nine countries. Young adults serve in the spirit of accompaniment, walking alongside global companions in a manner that practices mutuality, interdependence and solidarity. Areas of service include, but are not limited to, health and development, congregational ministry, human rights, education, homelessness, addiction recovery, women s issues and children and youth. To learn more about the YAGM program, go to Young Adults in Global Mission. When the Poor Ones David Cherwien, arr. When the poor ones, who have nothing, still are giving; when the thirsty pass the cup, water to share; when the wounded offer others strength and healing: we see God, here by our side, walking our way. When compassion gives the suffering consolation; when expecting brings to birth hope that was lost; when we choose love, not the hatred all around us. When our spirits, like a chalice, brim with gladness; when our voices, full and clear, sing out the truth, when our longings, free from envy, seek the humble. When the goodness poured from heaven fills our dwellings; when the nations work to change war into peace; when the stranger is accepted as our neighbor. José Antonio Olivar Response Our gifts are brought forward as we prepare for the Holy Meal. 4

Prayer P Let us pray: God of life, C you give us these gifts of the earth, these resources of our life and our labor. Take them, offered in great thanksgiving, and use them to set a table that will heal the whole creation; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Light. Amen. Great Thanksgiving We prepare our hearts and minds to receive Christ. P It is indeed right, our duty, and our joy we praise your name and join their unending hymn: Sanctus Words of Institution With these words, the pastor consecrates the elements for Holy Communion. Lord s Prayer C Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. The congregation may be seated. 5

Agnus Dei Distribution of Communion At King of Glory we welcome all who believe Jesus Christ is present for and with us in the bread and wine. If you would prefer not to receive wine, simply request white grape juice when served. Gluten-free wafers may also be requested. Children and adults not communing are invited to come forward for a word of blessing. Open hands show you wish to receive communion; folded hands show you want a blessing. Solo Expectations Chuck Allred Hymn 520 Dearest Jesus, at Your Word LIEBSTER JESU, WIR SIND HIER Blessing P The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep you in His grace. Prayer after Communion P Let us pray: Holy and compassionate God, in bread and wine you give us gifts that form us to be humble and courageous. May your words come to life in our serving and in our witness, that we might speak a living voice of healing and justice to all the world, through Jesus Christ, our rock and our redeemer. Sending Sending of Communion P O God of tender compassion, as you healed the sick and welcomed the stranger, bless those who leave this assembly to share the gifts of this table with our sisters and brothers who are sick and homebound. May they be sustained by the love and prayers of this community, and by the Bread of life that satisfies all hunger, Jesus Christ our Lord. Benediction Just as we began, we end worship in the Name of the Triune God. P God, creator of all things, speaking reformation into being; Jesus Christ, savior of the world, raising the dead; Holy Spirit, living voice, calling and enlightening the church: Almighty God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless you now and forever. Sending Hymn 669 Rise Up, O Saints of God! FESTAL SONG 6
