Cekaitis 8:00pm Walter & Madeline Donovan & Family Dear Parishioners, The Christmas Gospels speak to us of a family, rejoicing at a child s birth, their lives uniquely affected by God s presence in their midst, responding with faith and trust to their special role in the history of salvation, The example of the Holy Family inspires us as we celebrate Christmas. As they rejoice at Jesus birth, so too do we, remembering the new divine life made possible by Jesus life on earth. To all I extend my prayerful best wishes for a joyous and blessed Christmas. I am deeply grateful to all of you for all that is being accomplished in the life of the parish. As I ask your prayers, I assure you mine, that in the New Year we who are God s family on earth may serve Him with gladness. Sincerely in Christ, Rev. Stephen A. The Holy Hour will include reflections from a diocesan priest and a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. If you have any questions, please contact Father Rossi at frrossi@stjosephrc.org or Father Stokely at Saint Elizabeth s Parish Office, 610-321-1200. WHAT DRAWS PEOPLE INTO THE CATHOLIC FAITH? While there are many different circumstances that lead a person in the direction of Catholicism, the simple answer is, Because God has called them. Most often, God calls to us through the people closest to us, through our families and friends. Most who have entered the Church have been influenced by a Catholic spouse, fiancé, or close friend. For many of these people, a desire to raise their children in the knowledge of God spurred them to action. What is this if not the action of the Holy Spirit? If you, or someone you know, is interested in learning more about Catholic Faith and Worship contact Louis Valenti at 610-687- 2481 or email SIJDRE@gmail.com. YOUTH MINISTRY www.stisaac.org and click on Youth Ministry. Join Us!! Why do Catholics refer to the family as the domestic church? The Church calls families the domestic church or little churches because it is where young, baptized Christians learn about Faith. We learn how to love God and become part of the Church through our families. Our parents had us baptized in the Church, taught us to pray, took us to Mass, and passed on the Faith (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #1656). What the Church does helps us encounter God and his love the family does on a smaller scale. Jesus said, You did not choose me: I chose you. Is Jesus calling you to be a priest? Consider the call. www.heed TheCall.org. Page 3 030 St. Isaac Items for the Bulletin should be submitted in writing by Friday Noon of the week before, to the Editor, Carol Friel the Parish Secretary, email carol@stisaac.org, for approval by the Pastor.
