DECLARATION OF UNITY OF ASGARDIA We, the free people of the first in the history of humanity Space Kingdom ASGARDIA, based on the birthright of a Human in the universe, adopt this. DECLARATION 1. Asgardia is a free and unified Space Nation. 2. The objectives of Asgardia are: To ensure permanent peace in space; To ensure equal opportunities in space for all Asgardians, currently residing on Earth, regardless of their Earthly citizenship; To promote the welfare of the entire humankind. 3. Anyone can become a citizen of Asgardia, conditional on assenting to the Declaration, and abiding by the Constitution and the legislation of Asgardia. 4. All citizens of Asgardia are equal, irrespective of their Earthly country of origin, residence, citizenship, race, nationality, gender, religion, language, financial standing, or any other attribute. 5. Asgardia respects the laws of and international treaties concluded by the Earth s States, and wishes to be recognised as having equal status as the Earth s States. 6. Asgardia does not interfere in any affairs of the Earth s States based on reciprocity. 7. Asgardia participates in the global events on Earth, similar to the Earth s States, based on its membership in the respective international organisations. 8. Asgardia respects, complies with, and protects the rights of citizens of the Earth s States, and protects Asgardia s citizens in the exceptional nature of their space citizenship. 9. Asgardia has no place for political parties. However, every Asgardian can freely participate in the political life on Earth. 10. Asgardia mirrors the Earth without reflecting Earthly borders. Nevertheless, in the framework of Earthly laws, every Asgardian can freely live within the borders of any Earth State. 11. Asgardia is a nation of free spirit, science, internationalism. Every Asgardian can freely practice any religion of Earth in Asgardia. 12. There is no place for the history of Earthly conflicts in Asgardia. Asgardia creates a new peaceful history of the future space humankind. We, the people of Asgardia, will do everything for the prosperity of our new space nation created by us; for the safeguarding of our motherland - planet Earth; and the development of the entire humankind in space. We are not the best, we are the future. One humanity - one unity. This Declaration is a primary document 2 for the creation of the Space Nation of Asgardia.
CREATING A SPACE NATION On 12 October 2016, at a press conference in Paris, Igor Ashurbeyli, a distinguished aerospace scientist, visionary and philanthropist, announced the creation of Asgardia, the first space nation in the history of humanity. In accordance with Article 32 of the Constitution of Asgardia, on 10 September 2017, by Decree No.10, Igor Ashurbeyli officially assumed the position of Head of Nation. INAUGURATION On 25 June 2018, at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Igor Ashurbeyli was inaugurated as the Head of Nation. The official ceremony was attended by guests from more than 40 countries, ambassadors from more than 10 countries, representatives of a number of the largest nongovernmental organisations with ties to UN entities, recently elected Members of Parliament of Asgardia, astronauts, space industry leaders, scientists, international lawyers and media representatives from all over the world. THE COAT OF ARMS OF ASGARDIA The coat of arms of Asgardia symbolises the unity of all Asgardians on Earth and beyond The golden circle at the base the Sun is the center of our Solar System, the foundation for growth and prosperity of all Asgardians from all Earthly countries. In the center is the divine flower of life, the symbol of Asgardia. Encircling it is the motto of Asgardia: One Humanity One Unity. The motto is surrounded by 12 petals that are equal in size and evenly distributed, signifying the equality of all the official languages of Asgardia. THE FLAG OF ASGARDIA The flag of Asgardia symbolises a place of the First Space Nation in our solar system The bright yellow circle in the center is the Sun, positioned against the background of the blue sky. Nine yellow orbits symbolise the nine planets of our solar system, which represent the comprehensiveness of humanity s knowledge about space as of this moment. The three white external orbits symbolizes the infinity of humanity s new discoveries in space that are yet to be made, and the role of Asgardia in creating such a future. PHILOSOPHY Asgardia s philosophy began with selecting the nation s name Asgardia. In ancient mythology, Asgard was a country in the skies, the country of gods, the country of dreams. The main mission of Asgardia is the birth of the first human in space on the cosmic Noah s ark Asgardia s philosophical goal is to digitalise the Noosphere, the mirror image of humanity in space, but without the Earthly division into states, religions and nations. 6 Asgardia is a nation of free-thinking people
LEGAL The geopolitical conflicts on Earth, deep-rooted in the history of Earthly nations, stand in the way of creating a new, fair legal reality in space. The main legal goal is the creation of an independent state recognised by other countries on planet Earth New space law should not become the law of the jungle. Space exploration will be equally available to all earthly nations and to all people. A core legal principle is that Asgardia does not interfere in relations between states on Earth and vice versa. Citizens and investors participate in the distribution of the surplus part of the national budget. 3. The volumes of the Solar s emissions depend on the actual size of Asgardian market of goods and services. 4. The Solar is freely converted into 12 global currencies selected by Asgardians: US Dollar, Euro, British Pound, Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollar, Swiss Franc, Hong Kong Dollar, Mexican Peso, Australian Dollar, Singapore Dollar, Norwegian Krone, Swedish Krona. 5. Asgardian citizens and others can invest funds into the Asgardian economy by purchasing Asgardia AG shares. 6. Budget revenue of Asgardia is formed by means of the citizenship and residency fee payments, business taxes, return on investment and other sources. 7. A simple and transparent business taxation system based on the fixed tax rate. 8. Asgardia NGO is a non-commercial, non-governmental organisation that temporarily handles the operations of government, including management of the national budget. It is registered in Vienna (Austria). 9. Asgardia AG is a company involved in major business activities related to commercial undertakings in Space in connection with its plans to launch a large number of satellites.
