LIVING WATERS COVENANT CHURCH APRIL 2019 In This Issue: Pastor s Corner April Calendar Church Events News From Sunny Days Other Events Area News & Our Views SUNDAY SCHEDULE 9:00 A.M. Sunday School Pastor s Corner At Living Waters Covenant Church we have long observed Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and, of course, Easter. This year we will also offer a time of connecting with God in His house on Holy Saturday. On Saturday, April 20th from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. we will host a prayer walk based on the different symbols of Lent that we have highlighted over the season of Lent Sundays. The prayer walk will take a person to seven different stations around the church ending in the sanctuary. At each station you will be invited to reflect on different ways that Christ has blessed you with his suffering and sacrifice. You may start your individual walk at any time between 6:00 and 8:00 and take as long or short as you like to proceed from station to station. 10:00 A.M. Coffee Fellowship It is our hope that this activity will help further focus our minds and hearts on the significance of both the cross and the empty tomb. 10:30 A.M. Worship 1

Sunday, April 28th at 2:00 P.M. Come see the newly released movie, The Pilgrim s Progress at Living Waters Covenant Church Fun for the whole family invite your friends! Faith at Home Connection Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Deuteronomy 6:4-7 It s challenging to find the time to set aside to talk with our children about faith, but as the words of Deuteronomy tell us, those conversations can happen almost anytime. Car Time. Doesn t it seem that the most time you spend together as a family is when you re in the car, on your way to the next thing you have to do? Try turning off the radio and asking your children what highs and lows they had during the day. Then take a moment to pray for the event that you re headed to next. Bed Time. There might not be a better time to talk about faith than at bedtime. Share the highs and lows from the day and then take time to pray for each other. With teenagers you can ask, What s on your schedule tomorrow that I can pray for? Do any of your friends need prayer for anything? Meal Time. Taking a moment to give God thanks and praise before eating establishes a ritual that remains with children into adulthood. Vacation Time. Traveling together over a long distance or just getting away on a long weekend trip can be a great time to reestablish faith-talk in your family. Take a few minutes each day to give thanks for the time you ve spent together and the experiences you ve shared. One-on-One Time. One of the best things that you can do as a parent is to establish the ritual of one-on-one time with each of your children; it can be weekly or monthly, The particular activity is far less important than the time you spend together. (Adapted from Faith Begins at Home) 6

The kids have a lot of energy lately. I m thinking they want spring to come as much as we do. We have been outside once so far to play with chalk. We had Grandparent s Day this past week. It was fun to see the kids interact with their grandparents. We did a fun craft with both their fingerprints and had a snack with them. We even made the grandparents do a few dance moves. I can t believe that the year is almost over. We are finishing up our ABC s and the kids are wanting to go to Kindergarten. Let the little children come to me, do not hinder them for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Matthew 19:14 Blessings, Ms Jen 8
