**Changes to Procedure for Receiving Donation Statements** Due to changes in the tax code, we have been advised that fewer people will be itemizing charitable contributions as deductions. Thus, we have decided to discontinue our practice of automatically sending out end of the year donation statements. If you would like a statement of your 2018 charitable gifts, please call or email our secretary Becky at bfournier@ccup.org. Please let her know if you would like the statement sent to you or if you would like to pick it up at church. Our bookkeeper Deacon Bob Fedynich will then prepare your donation statement. Thank you for your understanding on this matter. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Above all, thank you for all the generous gifts of time, talent, and treasure that you made to CCUP in 2018! Fr. Jeremy There will be a Holy Hour at the Monestary of the Visitation (1745 Parkside Blvd. Toledo) Sunday, February 3rd at 4:00 p.m. ALL ARE WELCOME to Evening Prayer (Vespers), the Rosary, Homily, and Benediction. Jeremy Dear CCUP Friends, My name is Michaela Margida, and I am a PhD candidate in environmental sciences at UT. I'm a member of the pastoral council here at CCUP and love being a part of this warm and giving parish community. I would like to invite you to participate in a ministry that has brought me so much joy over the years: a nonprofit organization my younger brother Greg and I founded to show love and kindness to kids whose lives are affected by cancer and chronic illness. It's called The Valentine Project, and each year we send gift packages to these special kids.this year, we need your help! 50 children on our list are still waiting for Valentines. Here's how you can get involved: 1. Visit our website, www.thevalentineproject.org, and under the "Get Involved" dropdown menu, choose the option to "Be a Valentine." This will enable you to sign up to create a gift box for a specific child. You will be able to choose a child based on age and gender. 2. After you sign up for a child, you will put together a gift box containing items that will put a smile on that child's face! For example, if you have chosen a 5-year-old child, you might include a stuffed animal, a game or puzzle, some Valentine's Day candy, and a book. 3. Once you have created your gift box, you will stick it in the mail to The Valentine Project headquarters, where it will be lovingly re-packaged and sent to the child's doorstep in time for Valentine's Day. Thank you for considering being a part of The Valentine Project. This small act of love makes a huge difference to families going through the serious illness of a child. If you have any questions, please reach out to me, Michaela, when you see me at mass, or feel free to send me an email at michaela.margida@gmail.com. Love, Michaela
