WORSHIPING GOD S GREATNESS (*Indicates where congregation is invited to stand, as able) *CALL to WORSHIP Psalm 105:1-3 Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! *SONG of ADORATION O Worship the King Words and Music: Robert Grant and Johann Michael Haydn O worship the King all glorious above And gratefully sing His power and His love Our Shield and Defender the Ancient of Days Pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise O tell of His might O sing of His grace Whose robe is the light whose canopy space His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form And dark is His path on the wings of the storm The earth with its store of wonders untold Almighty Thy power hath founded of old Established it fast by a changeless decree And round it hath cast like a mantle the sea O measureless might ineffable love While angels delight to worship Thee above The humbler creation though feeble their lays With true adoration shall all sing Thy praise. 5
* PRAYER of INVOCATION ACKNOWLEDGING GOD S GRACE *CONFESSION of FAITH John 1 Heidelberg Catechism 1 & 2 Minister: Congregation: Minister: Congregation: What is your only comfort, in life and in death? That I belong - body and soul, in life and in death not to myself but to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ, Who at the cost of His own blood has fully paid for all my sins and has completely freed me from the dominion of the devil; that He protects me so well that without the will of my Father in heaven not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, that everything must fit His purpose for my salvation. Therefore, by His Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for Him. What do you need to know in order to live and die in the joy of this comfort? First, how great my sins and misery are, Second, how I am delivered from all my sins and misery, Third, how I am to be thankful to God for such deliverance. 6
CONFESSION of SIN Please, pray the following in unison Lord Jesus, I am blind, be my light, ignorant, be my wisdom, self-willed, be my mind. Open my ear to grasp quickly the Savior s voice, and delightfully run after His beckoning hand. When Satan approaches, may I flee to Your wounds. Your cross was raised to be my refuge, Your blood streamed forth to wash me clean, Your death occurred to give me a surety, Your name is my property to save me. By You all heaven is poured into my heart, but it is too narrow to comprehend Your love. I was a stranger, an outcast, a slave, a rebel, but Your cross has brought me near, has softened my heart, has made me Your Father s child, has admitted me to Your family, has made me joint-heir with Yourself. O that I may love You as You love me, that I may walk worthy of You, my Lord, that I may reflect the image of heaven s first-born. May I always see Your beauty with the clear eye of faith, and feel the power of Your Spirit in my heart, for unless He move mightily in me, no inward fire will be kindled. Amen. ASSURANCE of PARDON for BELIEVERS 1 John 2 :1-2 I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 7
SONG of RENEWAL Just As I Am Words: Charlotte Elliott Music: Bobby Guy and Craig Brown Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bidst me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, and waiting not To rid my soul of one dark blot, To Thee Whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am, though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt, Fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. Just as I am Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come, O Lamb of God, I come, I come. 8

*SONG of COMMITMENT Nothing But the Blood (Hymn #307, Verses 1-4) Words and Music by Robert Lowery What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus. For my cleansing, this I see, Nothing but the blood of Jesus; For my pardon, this my plea, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus. Nothing can for sin atone, Nothing but the blood of Jesus Naught of good that I have done, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus. This is all my hope and peace, Nothing but the blood of Jesus; This is all my righteousness, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh! Precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus. 10

MINISTRY OF THE WEEK Greg Hood REACH Ministries The Purpose of REACH Ministries is to lead men to know Christ, to mature in Christ, and to serve Christ. By reliance on God s Spirit they reach for this purpose through discipleship, prayer, and outreach. The Executive Director, Greg Hood, is a former Army pilot who flew helicopters in Vietnam. After military service, Greg and his wife Sarah joined the Military Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ and came to Corpus Christi in 1976. Their ministry subsequently expanded to include the business community and also church leadership. REACH provides small group Bible studies, training in evangelism, prayer and Christian leadership. In addition, the ministry sponsors men s conferences and brings in well-known speakers with evangelistic testimonies. Prayer for Those Searching for Truth Lord Jesus, You claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of following You as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what You claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and show me the reality of who You are. Amen. Prayer of Belief Heavenly Father, I admit that I am more sinful than I ever before believed, but, through Your Son Jesus, I can be more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank You that He lived the life I should have lived, and paid the debt and punishment I deserved. Receive me now for His sake. I turn from my sins and receive Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Amen. Prayer for Those Struggling with Sin Lord Jesus, help me to look to You as the fulfillment of all my needs, and to turn from every false satisfaction to feed on You, the true and living bread. Enable me to lay aside the sin that clings so closely, and run with perseverance the race set before me, looking to You, the pioneer and perfecter of my faith. Amen. Prayer of Commitment Lord Jesus, You have called us to follow You in a life of committed discipleship in Your church. Grant that I may take the necessary steps to be one with Your people, and live in the fullness of Your Spirit. Amen 17
