A Prayer Upon Entering: Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, for never deserting us or letting us be cut down and destroyed. May we respond by obeying Your commands, following Your will, and growing and developing as Your disciples. Nurturing Lord, may we live fruitful lives for You. OUR WORSHIP TODAY ORDER OF SERVICE:... As projected HYMNS:... 563; The Wonderful Cross; Jesus Messiah; 824 FIRST LESSON: Ezekiel 33:7-20... p. 914 EPISTLE LESSON: 1 Corinthians 10:1-13... p. 1217 GOSPEL LESSON: Luke 13:1-9... p. 1109 SERMON: WELCOME to all members and visitors with us this morning. Jesus told His followers to go and make disciples, and we exist here to carry out that task, by baptizing and teaching the Word of God. We invite you to worship with us again. Please sign our guest book at the back of the church before you leave. WE CELEBRATE HOLY COMMUNION THIS WEDNESDAY, in which our Lord offers us His true body and blood for the forgiveness of our sins and the strengthening of our faith. By partaking of this Sacrament together, we confess our unity in faith and are drawn closer to one another and to the Lord. If you are a visitor, not belonging to the Lutheran Church-Canada, and wish to commune, please speak with the pastor before the service. Anyone is welcome to come to the Altar for a blessing, please simply cross your arms across your chest and the Elders will know how to respond. THE NURSERY is available for times that children are restless and is equipped with a sound system to enable parents to continue worshipping. Because some of our children and parents have severe nut allergies, please keep the nursery a nut-free zone. LARGE PRINT HYMNS AND SERVICE are available for your use. Please pick up a copy from the tables at the back of the sanctuary or ask an usher for a copy. CHILDREN S BULLETINS, crayons, scrap paper and busy bags are available on the bookshelves by the sanctuary doors for children to use during worship.

In Sunday School today, the children learned how Jesus comes to us in His Word, so that the Spirit gives us faith to believe in Christ s resurrection and comforts us when we mourn the death of loved ones. You might discuss, How did Jesus followers react when they discovered the empty tomb? How can we share the message of the resurrection? MISSION OF THE MONTH: Canadian Lutheran World Relief Through community relief, emergency relief and the We Care programme, CLWR seeks to meet the needs of those in crisis around the world. Inspired by God's love for humanity, CLWR challenges the causes and responds to the consequences of human suffering and poverty. Much of the work is done in 3rd world countries, but CLWR responds in time of need to serve the needs of others THE LUTHERAN HOUR: (March 31 st ) "Life Worth Living". Speaker: Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler. Jesus calls us to hate life in this world, not because he wants hateful people. Rather, he wants us to more deeply love true life. (John 12:12-36). Hear this inspirational message on CHRB 1140/am at 8:00 am Sunday mornings. Streaming audio and pod-casts at www.lutheranhour.ca. A special devotion is available online from Lutheran Hour Ministries each day during Lent at www.lhm.org/lent. LWMLC FOOTHILLS SOCIETY MEETING TOMORROW at 12 noon: Bring your own lunch and enjoy the fellowship. 12:30 1:15: Business Meeting; 1:15 2:30: Bible Study. All ladies are welcome!

OUR MINISTRY OF THE WEEK Our Board of Stewardship seeks to encourage our congregational members in using all that God has given us to His glory our time, our talents, our treasures. One way is through our Ministry of the Week. This week s highlighted ministry is the Canadian Lutheran World Relief. CLWR is our Mission of the Month, so you can see the information above about their work. The Bible calls us to show mercy and to love our neighbour, which we know means to help them in their needs. That is what CLWR empowers us to do. May God continue to bless those efforts! PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN SCHOOL UPDATE: Thank you to our wonderful church family for your concern for Prince of Peace, and most of all, for your prayers. It has been a long process, in which we were taught faith and trust. We were overjoyed when we heard that God answered "YES" to our prayers. The school will have some changes but will be staying open. This we praise God for! ~ The Dueck Family OUR LEADERS ARE GATHERING IN BIBLE STUDY during the Lenten season, focusing on our spiritual life together, remembering all that our Saviour has done so that we can be His people and serve Him in His church. We are discussing Lutheran Doctrine and Practice, this week looking at Sin. We meet Mondays at 7:00 pm. Your leaders are showing great enthusiasm and leading by example in their attendance. Week 1 there were 17 attendees and this past week we increased that number to 20. Praise the Lord! BEHOLD THE MAN Pilate said, as he brought the suffering Saviour out before the mob on Good Friday. We invite you to Behold the Man in our special Lenten services, which will be held during our regular Wednesday worship time. We will fix our eyes and our preaching on the man Jesus, contemplating the inescapable fact that God became man, in order to take the place of all lost and sinful mankind. This week Pastor Eric will share with us, A God Exposed. We also invite you to join us for our Lenten soup suppers. Please sign-up to bring a pot of soup for one of these meals. The soup sign-up sheet is on the Fellowship bulletin board. THE SILVER SAINTS invite you to join them on Wednesday, March 27 th in the Fellowship Hall at 1:30 pm for popcorn and a movie. I Can Only Imagine is an uplifting, music-filled movie which beautifully illustrates the power of forgiveness and God's love.

HYMN SING SUNDAY: There are 5 Sundays this March which means our worship next week will include your favorite hymns. Please have your submissions to Pastor Bode no later than noon Wednesday. Please remember it is Lent, and we set aside our Alleluia hymns during this time. NOMINATION NOTICE: It s time to begin the nomination process. Please prayerfully consider if you or your fellow members can serve our congregation in one of the positions of leadership. Candidates for the various positions will need to be finalized in the near future. All positions are for 2-year terms (July 1, 2019 June 30, 2021) with the exception this year of Vice President and Human Care Ministries which is for one year only to maintain continuity for elections to the PPC. Position descriptions and nomination forms are available on the welcome desk in the narthex. Current openings are Board of Elders (multiple) male only; Board of Evangelism and Public Relations; Board of Christian Education and Young Peoples Ministry; and, Human Care Ministries. Completed forms can be dropped in the mail slot outside the Administrative Office. SUMMER VBS REGISTRATION: Our Vacation Bible School, Journey With Jesus: He Is the Way Home! will be held July 15-19 and 22-26. Paper registration forms are available on the Welcome Desk. Register your children and grandchildren and encourage them to invite a friend. Online registration is also open, and as classes tend to fill up quickly, we encourage you to make your plans and register prior to that time One major change: We removed the VBS line from the budget, believing that people would like a more direct way to be involved. We are asking you to consider sponsoring a child for $10.00. This will provide materials and all that is necessary for our work. Along with those gifts, we need your prayers, for the students and for the staff who will be sharing God s good news. You can also join us any day that week; we can always benefit from an extra pair of hands and feet! Use the form below, fill it in, and drop it on the offering plate or put it on the secretary s desk. God is so good to us! In grateful thanksgiving, I offer to serve Him in VBS as: Teacher Helper Kitchen Staff (Fridays only) Crafts I will provide snacks for volunteers (nut free) Games I will sponsor a child ($7.00 each) Signed:
