United Methodist Church of Antioch Sixth Sunday after Easter May 21, 2017 8:00 & 10:30 am PRELUDE ANNOUNCEMENTS PASSING OF THE PEACE *OPENING HYMN God of Grace & God of Glory #377 red *THE CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: Sinful as we are, God loves us and offers us deliverance each day. People: God offers deliverance every time we feel defeated by our problems in life. Leader: Those victories are nothing compared to the victory of forgiveness God is trying to convince us of, if we will confess our sins. People: We are ashamed of the way we have taken God s deliverance for granted, and the way we have disregarded his Son s suffering on our behalf. May God forgive and cleanse us of our sins. OPENING PRAYER Almighty God, we are too familiar with discords in life that create conflicts which the world cannot resolve. Forgive us for resistance to the inner peace which your Son has promised. Help us to surrender our conflicts and anxieties to you. That we may feel the healing touch of your peace granting us comfort and wholeness; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
