4th Sunday Of Easter What s the buzz Tell me what s happening...? Did you know that the two mosaics in the sanctuary are considered one of the treasures of the 1904 World s Fair? The Mosaics were commissioned by the Busch family to be displayed at the World s Fair held in Forest Park. They were intended to show our rich German ancestry here in St. Louis. The mosaics were displayed in the German Section of the Palace of Varied Industries. In 1906 the mosaics were donated to the St. Louis Art Museum and were installed as arches over the entrances. After spending many years being loaned out as exhibits across the country they came back to St. Louis and were then donated to the St. Louis Archdiocese. In 1962 Cardinal Ritter presented the mosaics to the newly established St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church that we all call home today! The welcome center is open for business in Room 3 after Saturday 4:30 mass and Sunday 10:30 mass. Stop in for a cup of coffee and meet some new faces around the parish. ARCH Co-op is still holding classes throughout the building all day Wednesday. Boy Scouts will be holding their Adult Leader Training meeting in the cafeteria on Wednesday evening. We are also host every Wednesday evening to a men s AA meeting. Our ongoing SAJE chair exercises, pickle ball games and Zumba are all week at various times in the gym.

News Around Town ACA PLEDGE WEEKENDS The Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) pledge weekends are April 26 and May 3. The 2015 financial goal is $13.25 million. Our parish goal is $26,906. It s good to know that approximately 91 cents of every dollar raised goes back into the local community in the form of direct services. Last year we raised $29,514 and had a participation percentage rate of 81%. Let s build on that success and exceed our dollar goal again this year. In addition to being able to make a pledge by cash or check, the pledge forms provide the ability to pay by credit card and even a bill-me-later feature. This makes it easier than ever to help us exceed our goal. Thanks in advance for your contribution. YOU CAN ALSO DONATE ONLINE. See our new website: stelizabethhungary.org. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND SAVE THE DATE. On Saturday, May 9th, 2015 St. Elizabeth will be hosting a Tonight Show Evening of Trivia, Games, Entertainment and more to raise money for a new roof on our Church/School building. As you are all aware our roof is leaking and needs to be replaced. We are in the process of getting bids. Cost: Tables of 8 for $200 or $25 per Person which are sold out but we are still accepting donations to help with the cost of the project. Time: Doors open at 6:30 PM and games start at 7:00 PM. This is not your typical trivia night. Games and surprises in store for a fun filled night of entertainment. Contact Leah at: 314-917-1058 or Leahcg1@yahoo.com. You can also register online at: stelizabethhungary.org. IT S TAB TOP TIME AGAIN Please bring in your aluminum tab tops again ASAP. There is a white square bucket in the hall closet in the lobby. There is a TAB TOP BONANZA at Ronald McDonald House on May 2, 2015. Therefore, we need tab tops quickly. Thank You, Geoffrey Bilger & Elaine Snyder MAY SOCIAL CLUB MEETING Take a few hours away from your gardening and spring cleaning to visit with friends, have lunch and an interactive demonstration of chair exercises by Kim White, a licensed massage therapist. All of the adults of the parish are invited to join us in the cafeteria at 11:30 am on Thursday, May 7. Lunch will be Chicken Crescent Casserole, Spinach Salad with blueberries, rolls, and dessert. Cost is $8. Make your reservation by calling Mary Lou Parsons, 849-1203, by Monday, May 4. Heads up: Plan for a St. Elizabeth minitrivia game. Also: New membership roster will be available.

This system is more convenient for the parish than electronic checks from your bank. And it s convenient for you because you can make changes at any time. You can see reports on your contribution history and generate tax statements at each year s end. Go to: www.stelizabethhungary.org and click "Support the Parish" to get started. Let s start a choir! St. Elizabeth s Music Ministry is interested in forming a new choir of young and older, men and women, alto and soprano voices. We re looking for interested pianists, organists, and past music participants to help us get this started. Let s blend these beautiful voices in praise at our Masses.
