What is in our hearts comes out in what and how we speak. If our hearts are filled with kindness and compassion, those qualities will be evident in our speaking, just as beautiful, wholesome fruit comes only from healthy trees. And vice-versa. The Wisdom writer Sirach in the first reading agrees with this concept that we will be judged by our words. Paul reminds us that the reward of discipleship is eternal life. Today s psalm of thanksgiving and praise reminds us of God s kindness and faithfulness, which we are to emulate in our thoughts, words, and deeds. We are known, each of us, by our own fruit. We encourage all to watch the brief 2019 ACA Video online at: CFBQ.org/ACAVideo or it can be viewed on our website. PREPARING FOR LENT The holy season of Lent will soon be upon us. This is, for most Catholics, a special time of personal spiritual reflection and development. It is good advice to plan and prepare for this holy time. What are you doing this Lent? The traditional practices of Fasting, Prayer and Charity (almsgiving) are powerful and helpful. But a more personal, focused plan for growth during this season can make Lent a meaningful and blessed time for each of us. Resurrection Parish is planning some opportunities this Lent which may help you on your spiritual journey. Stations of the Cross help us appreciate Jesus sacrifice of love as we meditate on the way of the Cross. We will celebrate the stations on Friday mornings after the 8:30 Mass and on Wednesday evenings at 7:30PM. Holy Hours. Spend an hour in the presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, in prayer, praise and meditative worship of Him. Marked by silence and singing we can draw closer to Him who has given all for us. Each Friday of Lent at 7:30PM. We invite, encourage and welcome all our parish friends to join us and accompany each other with prayer and support on our personal and communal journey toward Easter. Please Plan to Join Us. See the enclosed flyer for more information.
