Youth Faith Ambassadors and C.A.R.E. Crew focus on the OCGSE during -Announcements and liturgies -Monthly virtue assemblies that recognize those students who model the virtues. Parents are invited to attend. Celebrating Virtues: A virtue is a habit or established capacity to perform good actions according to a moral standard. When we practice these virtues we strengthen them and thereby make the presence of God more and more visible in the world around us. At St Francis of Assisi, we gather as a faith community to recognize and reflect on the virtues, reflect on our faith and reflect on the connection to the OCSGEs. We honour our students, and their student voice. We include our glee club, liturgical choir & our dance club Page 6 of 8

The virtues are rooted in Gospel Values and are emphasized in the Catholic School Graduate Expectations with an emphasis on the development of the whole child. Symbols that are representative of the virtues are placed on the altar at the front of our school. Chosen monthly for displaying the qualities of our virtures, students receive a virtue token. Visible Signs of our Faith: Through symbol and service, we are instruments of God s love whose work within our communities stands as a witness to our faith. Upon entering St. Francis of Assisi, our virtues and our altar are proudly on display. A prayer center / table can be found in every classroom, on which a cross, Bible, and candle can be found along with other relevant symbols of our Faith. The hallways of our school and front display are adorned with Faith based activities produced by the students of St. Francis of Assisi, in keeping with the liturgical calendar (i.e., saints during November, the Stations of the Cross during Lent ). Staff and students also come together for various drives throughout the school year by bringing in monetary donations, food donations, personal need items donations, and presents. (i.e., Thanksgiving Food Drive, Mitten Tree, etc.). Staff come together to volunteer to deliver presents collected to our families in need. As part of our catholic school planning, we have made it an integral part of our communication to parents & students to integrate scripture & quotes from our patron Saint onto our letterhead, our tests & assignments & in our daily announcements.
