SERMON STUDY GUIDE We connect in Life Groups to: Connect with God and each other Connect the Bible to life Connect with the community through serving together ICE BREAKER : What was a recent trip you went on (near or far)? Share a highlight of the trip with your group. PRAYER Our desire is that you give 10% of your time to God in prayer. Before your sermon discussion, take time to pray together. THIS WEEK: Go Be Do Luke 10:1-16 This week we continue in the Influence sermon series looking at the discipleship approach of: Follow Know Show Go Coach. 1. Looking back at your notes from this week s message, what particularly caught your attention, encouraged, challenged or confused you? 2. What about this week s message led you towards Jesus? How so? 3. Read Luke 10:1-16. What stands out to you about the Lord s sending in this passage?

This weekend we heard about going forth as ambassadors of Christ (2 Cor. 5:20). This can cause us to feel inadequate. However, as Pastor David pointed out, you re already going everywhere we go is an opportunity to prepare people for when Jesus shows up. And we were not meant to go alone. 4. What distractions does life bring that get in the way of our going? We are to look for where God is already at work and join in it. In this regard, Pastor David talked about the Person of Peace. 5. Who is the Person of Peace around you? How will you pray for them? How will you connect with them? TAKING IT HOME In this series we define a disciple of Jesus as, someone who follows Jesus in an ever deepening relationship of love (John 14:23). This week we looked at the strategy of: Go. Be. Do. Go - where you are has a purpose. Be - you are the only Jesus some people will see. Do - you can always pray. 6. Which of these three areas is your sweet spot? How so? 7. Which area needs attention? How will you get it?

BEING ON MISSION At Cold Springs Church we talk about being on mission together. As Jesus followers, we are called to go. Our focus of #FORELDOCO (For El Dorado County), is a primary expression of Cold Springs missional life. Because we are greater together than individually. If you haven t had a chance to watch our video, please do so at: http:// www.coldspringschurch.net/foreldoco. Highlights and updates happen via our website, Facebook and Instagram. If you love where you live, why not be FOR it? Let s be for the 180,000+ people who call El Dorado County home. Let s be FOR our neighbors. For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Galatians 5:13 14 (ESV) HOW TO READ THE BIBLE All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man (or woman) of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, ESV) Ask yourselves the following questions as you read this week s Bible passage What is God asking me to believe? What is God asking me to do? How is God preparing me to live more effectively for him? For more tips and resources on what is in the Bible and how to read it, visit www.thebibleproject.com. The Bible Project creates free videos that show the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. To find out more about this ministry, check out this short clip: https://youtu.be/wtuxiztf9ns.
