Empowered by the Holy Spirit Sanctuary Set The design through color and shape flows from Acts 1:8. The central ceiling design captures our being called by Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit to go into the world with the gospel. The fluidity of the design speaks of the dynamic, organic way in which this happens. Our eyes are drawn from the ceiling to the front where the cross keeps our gospel focus clear.

This policy change occurred in April and it is unfortunate that the negative effect has only recently been discovered. Report from Madison in Wyoming Madison in Wyoming is a multisite ministry of Madison Square Church, a multi-ethnic Spanish-flavored worshiping community sharing and living the gospel together, led by Cisco Gonzalez (cgonzalez@ madisonsquarechurch.org, 745-2875). Pastor Cisco calls this ministry Jesus and Me (J.A.M). A baker s dozen people enjoyed a J.A.M. Tasting party the evening of October 3 at the Spartan Stores YMCA in Wyoming. A number of us met each other for the first time. We enjoyed food and sang together -- in English and Spanish. Pastor Cisco shared his personal passion for sharing Christ, reviewed his vision for J.A.M., and gave an overview of places he has seen, people he has met, and questions that still beg for answers. We wrapped up with a time of reflection, prayer, and feedback, and agreed to meet again on Saturday, October 13. Pastor Cisco has been working hard to know and get to know the Wyoming community and its people. Let us count some ways: Wyoming City Planner Timothy Cochran about city zoning. Bruce Roller of UCOM (United Church Outreach Ministry), an important potential partner. David Britton, Godfrey/Lee School District superintendent, where 1470 of the 2070 students (or 71%) are Hispanic/Latino. Local pastors and other local and regional church leaders. Business people, and civic and community organization leaders. During the first quarter Pastor Cisco has had a variety of training opportunities: THRIVE, an intensive planning week for CRC and RCA planters. Timothy Training Institute; great materials for lay leaders. A refresher on inviting folks and foundations to become partners. On how to set up ESL programs (English as a Second Language). Setting up our Tent Deciding where to locate in Wyoming has been so difficult that we decided to host Bible studies in three areas (Godfrey/Lee, Godwin Heights and the Wyoming panhandle). Now that we decided where to park our tents even temporarily we need to confirm space. Pray with us for special sensitivity to God s leading and alertness to the open doors he has waiting for us.

Teens on the MOVE Middle School Oct. 25 ~ Post Family Farm Trip! We will go on a hay ride, find our way through their giant corn maze and enjoy doughnuts and cider. Cost is $9 per person. Parents are needed to help chaperone; contact Darrell Delaney: ddelaney@madisonsquarechurch.org or 245.7791. High School This evening at 5 ~ The Legacy of Mentoring ~ Tonight we will look at the relationships between Paul and Timothy as we continue to unpack our theme verse 2 Timothy 1:7-8. There will also be messy games tonight, so come prepared for some fun! October 28 ~ Rejecting the Legacy of the Occult ~ Christine McGuire spent eight years as a witch, medium, and ghost hunter before re-dedicating her life to Christ in 2007. She knows firsthand how the occult works to take root in the hearts & minds of many (including Christians) and believes that the need for spiritual discernment has never been greater. She will share her journey with us and share with us how to avoid deception that comes especially around Halloween. Her book, Escaping the Cauldron, will be available for purchase. Youth Ministry Needs Praise God! We are all set for leaders for both Middle and High School groups. Middle School Youth Group still needs: van drivers and two snack providers for Thursday nights. Call Christy at 340.3742 to serve.
