Opening Hymn #566 (vv 1-3) By Grace I m Saved Baptism of Thomas Jerrel Perry, Jr. Vows of Intent by parents and sponsors Lord's Prayer Apostles Creed Baptism by Water and the Spirit Hymn #725 "Children of the Heavenly Father" Psalm 62 P In the name of the Father Son Holy Spirit. C Amen. P Truly my soul finds rest in God; C My salvation comes from him. P Truly he is my rock and my salvation; C He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Hymn #656 "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" A mighty Fortress is our God, A trusty Shield and Weapon; He helps us free from every need That hath us now o'ertaken. The old evil Foe Now means deadly woe; Deep guile and great might Are his dread arms in fight; On Earth is not his equal. P Yes, my soul, find rest in God; C My hope comes from him. P Truly he is my rock and my salvation; C He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. P My salvation and my honor depend on God; C He is my mighty rock, my refuge. P Trust in him at all times, you people; C Pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. With might of ours can naught be done, Soon were our loss effected; But for us fights the Valiant One, Whom God Himself elected. Ask ye, Who is this? Jesus Christ it is. Of Sabbaoth Lord, And there's none other God; He holds the field forever.
P Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. C If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. P Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; C Though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. Though devils all the world should fill, All eager to devour us. We tremble not, we fear no ill, They shall not overpower us. This world's prince may still Scowl fierce as he will, He can harm us none, He's judged; the deed is done; One little word can fell him. P One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: C Power belongs to you, God, P With you, Lord, is unfailing love ; C You reward everyone according to what they have done. The Word they still shall let remain Nor any thanks have for it; He's by our side upon the plain With His good gifts and Spirit. And take they our life, Goods, fame, child and wife, Let these all be gone, They yet have nothing won; The Kingdom our remaineth. Collect for Reformation Day - Responsive Prayer P Almighty God, gracious Lord, pour out your Holy Spirit on your faithful people.
