Church of the Most Holy Trinity 1460 Ridge Road Webster, New York 14580 (585)265-1616 Fax 265-1627 (website) www.holytrinityweb.com (email) wholytri@dor.org Questions at the End of the Day Last Sunday Fr. Dan McMullen took us on a wonderful journey in prayer. (You can see the entire talk on our website www.holytrinityweb.com) (go to media) He spoke about our desire for good feelings during prayer and how the lack of them does not mean God is far away. He helped us see how God s presence can come to us through sacred scripture in the practice of Lectio Divina (Sacred Reading). To help us see the tracings of God s presence in our day, he left us a set of questions we might ask ourselves at the end of the day. Take your time with these. The answers only come gradually! I like the first one the best. Maybe this could be your evening prayer. Pick one or two and speak them to the Lord. Fr. T At the End of the Day - A Mirror of Questions What dreams did I create last night? Where did my eyes linger today? Where was I blind? Where was I hurt without anyone noticing? What did I learn today? What did I read? What new thoughts visited me? What differences did I notice in those closest to me? Whom did I neglect? Where did I neglect myself? What did I begin today that might endure? How were my conversations? What did I do today for the poor and the excluded? Did I remember the dead today? Where could I have exposed myself to the risk of something different? Where did I allow myself to receive love? With whom today did I feel most myself? What reached me today? How deep did it imprint? Who saw me today? What visitations had I from the past and from the future? What did I avoid today? From the evidence - why was I given this day? From Benedictus: A Book of Blessings by John O Donohue, p. 115 Our Mission We are a Catholic faith community blessed with the joy of God s love. Together we share this love with all who hunger for God s presence in their lives. We follow Christ who taught us to find God by giving our lives in service to others and gathering to celebrate a Eucharist that welcomes everyone. Join us on this journey!

Daylight Saving Time returns on Sunday, March 10, at 2:00 am. Holy Trinity Church, Webster, New York From the Faith Formation Office We are getting ready for the special church season known as Lent but what is it? Lent is one of the Church's most important seasons in the liturgical year. Beginning on Ash Wednesday it will last forty days (not including Sundays) which reflects how long Christ spent praying and fasting in the desert. The Sundays of this season are all special, and the last one known as Passion (or Palm) Sunday will begin Holy Week. Not only is Lent a time of preparation for the great feast of Easter, but also about looking at the Cross as Christ s gift of himself, and modeling that amazing love in our own lives and families. It is a time to recognize that sometimes we fail but also to remember that if we seek his help, Jesus can help us to grow! Why? Because he loves us so much!! As we get ready for Lent, think about how much Jesus loves you. How can we share that love with everyone in our lives? As you sit down to dinner sometime this week, talk to each other about LOVE not only your love for each other, but also about God s unfaltering love for us all! For more information on our events or programs, please contact the Faith Formation office at (585)265-4750 or email us at tricia.kull@dor.org. St. Rita School... Where Faith and Knowledge Meet!
