Fr. Bondy s By-Lines God calls each of us to be a disciple. Perhaps you are thinking: I could never do that. You're wrong. Here is a list that came in an email, years ago, of some of the great people in the Bible. Everyone of them had a reason for thinking God could not use them. So the next time you feel like God can t use you, remember: St. Anne Catholic Community News Warren, Michigan Prayer to Saint Anne Great St. Anne, whose name our parish bears, protect us and pray for us, that like you, we may serve God faithfully here on earth and be with Him in Heaven for all eternity. Amen Noah was a drunk. Abraham was too old. Isaac was a day-dreamer. Jacob was a liar. Leah was ugly. Joseph was abused by his brothers. Moses had a stuttering problem. Gideon was afraid. Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer. Rahab was a prostitute. Jeremiah and Timothy thought they were too young. David had an extra-marital affair and was a murderer. Elijah was suicidal. Isaiah thought himself unworthy. Jonah ran away from God s call. Naomi was a widow. Job went bankrupt. Martha was a perpetual worrier. The Samaritan women who spoke with Jesus at the well was five-times divorced. Zacchaeus was too small. Peter denied Christ. The disciples fell asleep while praying. At Jesus arrest, they all forsook him and fled. Paul was too religious. Timothy had an ulcer. And Lazarus was dead! So, what s your excuse? Whatever it may be, God can still use you to your full potential. Besides, you aren't the message. You re only the messenger. When you were born, you were crying, and everyone around you was smiling. Start today (if you haven t started already) living your life so when you die, you re the only one smiling, and everyone around you is crying. ***** Courtesy costs nothing, yet it buys things that are priceless. ***** Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, more intelligently. Some of those beliefs stem from stories told to them by others to bring awe and wonderment to their childhood. Some are beliefs about how things work in the world, and some are concerning where they fit into that world. As children reach maturity, some beliefs will be verified and then held onto for the rest of their lives; other ideas will be cast aside for good, either because they have seen no evidence that attests to the truth of those beliefs or because others have convinced them through words or actions that those beliefs were in error. A great sadness results when someone disbelieves the truth because they have seen no evidence to confirm it. Thomas had a chance to believe because he saw Jesus and touched his scars. But there are people all around us who only see injustice, pain, and sorrow, and Jesus is nowhere to be found. Where are those who bear the name of Christian? Perhaps this Easter season, God is calling you to show the real Jesus Christ to others so they may believe. 2018 St. Anne Easter Flower Memorials Armand Renaud, Bob Rosenthal, Gus Rosenthal, May Rosenthal, May Renaud by Ron & Virginia Renaud Anointing Mass April 20, 2018 Saturday Mass - 5pm Those in need of God s healing grace due to sickness or advanced age are urged to make use of this sacramental opportunity.
