SECRETARY S DESK We offer our sincere gratitude to all concerned supportive organizations and the people of the society who helped in achieving our goal for FY 2016-2017. I personally feel thrilled to launch 15 th Annual Report for your observation of our sincere work during 2017-2018. I am feeling very pleasant to present our Annual Report for the period 2016-2017. Swargiya Kanhai Shukla Samajik Sewa Sansthan (SKSSSS) is a NGO working since 2002 in different districts in Bihar to bring qualitative and quantitative changes in the lives of the poor and marginalized section of the society. The Child Protection issues & Education in bigger way initiated in this year. The year 2017-2018 has been of implementation, expansion and intensification of our different developmental programs with greater people s participation and realistic approach. The programs run by SKSSSS has been able to reach to the people it strives for. SKSSSS has been working on health, community radio program, Child Protection, SHG promotion, vocational training, Capacity Building of Frontline Workers, education, awareness generation since its inception and so far we have gone in a right direction. We are also planning sincerely that our efforts should contribute in distinctive ways to facilitate desired socio-economic changes in the lives of the poor people. In the meantime, we have also shared our knowledge with the Academia, Media, Local Administration and Civil Society Organizations that has helped us in establishing deeper relationship with the people in our intervention area. We also focused on capacity building of organization. Our Staffs & volunteers participated in various Capacity Building programmes of reputed Resource Agencies. We feel our staffs have to up-to-dated with latest technical aspect of rendering services to the covered target groups. With own resources we also arranged time to time training to our staffs for contributing its best effort for social issues. But, all these efforts and accomplishments would not have been possible without the support and collaboration of our board members, donors, partners, local administration, community members and to our highly committed team. ORIGIN ANNUAL REPORT 2017-2018 Swargiya Kanhai Shukla Samajik Seva Sansthan (SKSSSS) was established in 2002 as a NGO in memory of the eminent social activists Late Shri Kanhai Shukla. The man was devoted for the cause of the poor communities of the Vaishali district from 1960 to 1978. In March 2003, SKSSS was registered as a NGO under the Societies Registration Act 1860 to further spread its good work for exploring the way for creation of a just and equal society. VISION To work for a just and equal society based on humanity, equality and fraternity, so that no one remains hungry, exploited, unemployed and illiterate. MISSION To educate, organize and empower the rural poor by promoting development as a liberating force for achieving social justice, economic growth and self-reliance. WORKING STRATEGY SKSSSS wants to ensure grass root people s participation and facilitate their access to local resources. In conformity with this, programs are need based and socially viable. INFRASTRUCTURE, RECIEPTS AND PAYMENTS The registered office of SKSSSS is at Hospital Road, Hazipur in Vaishali district while the branch offices are at Laheriasarai at Darbhanga District, Begusarai, Rosera, Samastipur District in Bihar. These offices are equipped with basic facilities like training hall, Computer, phone, fax, internet, photocopier, Digicam & Android Mobile Phones. We have a four wheeler vehicle for communication/ transportation. Activities/Programs for 2017-2018 CHILDLINE VAISHALI, SAMASTIPUR & Railway CHILDLINE, Hajipur In 2017-18 SKSSSS driven well the CHILDLINE Services in Vaishali District. As Nodal Agency for CHILDLINE Vaishali- 1098. The project entered in 5 th year in this Financial Year in Vaishali District. The primary role of the SKSSSS as CHILDLINE nodal organization, Vaishali, Sub Centre, Rosera, Samastipur & CHD, Hajipur Jn. are to ensure effective networking (With CWC, JJB, District Administration, Hospitals, Police Administration & Other Stake Holders and Allied Systems) and training of organisations associated with CHILDLINE Vaishali. We organized several Workshops and Seminars on the Child Protection issues for orientation and sensitization of Govt. Officials, Stake 5 P a g e Block Level CHILDLINE Advisory Board Meeting at Vaishali Block in presence of BDO, CO, CDPO, SHO & PRIs Holders, Children & Communities etc. We helped large number of children of need & care & protection. In which 5 newly born abandoned babies were also rescued from their life threat & given shelter and send them to Specialized Adoption agencies (SAA) in Saran, & Nalanda by the order of Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Vaishali. We have the District Level CHILDLINE Advisory Board (CAB), Vaishali in the Chairmanship of District Magistrate, Vaishali. The CAB is consisting of all Sr. Officials of Child related Govt. Departments of the district. In 2017-18 there were many decisions of CHILDLINE Advisory Board s (CAB s)/ District Child Protection Committee Meetings strengthen the work of CHILDLINE in the district. The excellent rapport has been developed with the District Govt. Officials including District Administration, Police Department, GRP & RPF. We also gathered the information of stake holders and other resource human bodies for the support of CHILDLINE in the work. The number of Cases has been increased by 5 times than previous year 2015-16 due to our systematic approach to reach common masses and disseminate our message for child protection amongst them. The numbers of phone calls were also increased on our toll free number 1098 for the help of child in need & care & protection. We also made sensitized & motivated to Govt. Officials, CWC, Police Department, DCPU, Labour Resource Department, Education Department, ICDS, Juvenile Justice Board etc on the issues lying under Child Protection. We also activated to the Block & Panchayat Level Functionaries & children of schools, Anganwadis & communities for more conscious about the Child Protection Policy. We are now Member of District Child Labour Dhawa Dal, Anti Human Trafficking Unit & District Child Protection Unit of Vaishali district. SKSSSS ensures that the issues faced in responding to calls are addressed for the effective functioning of the service. The Nodal organisation has a District coordinator who coordinates CHILDLINE activities on behalf of the Nodal organization SKSSSS in Vaishali. Our work in the during 2017-18:-

We organize regular Meeting of Directors, Coordinators & Team Members. We initiated the process of formation of CAB (Childline Advisory Board) in the chairmanship of District Magistrate, Vaishali & Samastipur. We organize Jhanki on Republic Day at Akshayway Rai Stadium, Hajipur & Rosera on 26 th January 2018. Observed many District level awareness programmes by campaign in Bihar Diwas, Samastipur Divas, Vaishali Asthapana Diwas, Vaishali Mahotsava & many district level Fairs organized by District Administration. We are primary Member in Anti Human Trafficking Unit, District Child Protection Committee and Child Labour Dhawa Dal, Vaishali. We capacitate many District Officials as well as NGOs and Stake Holders of District in the Child Protection and overall development of children. 6 P a g e

AWARENESS CUM KHOYA PAYA CENTRE AT KARTIK POORNIMA MELA AT KOUNHARA GHAT CHILDLINE TEAM at Ramashish Chowk, Hajipur, Vaishali Camp during Kartik Purnima Mela 04 awareness-cum-khoya Paya Camp was operated jointly with District Child Protection Unit, Vaishali. Our field staffs were involved in generating awareness amongst pilgrims through banner & Pamphlets. This awareness was operated from the stall of District Administration, Vaishali. We have been helped 200 Missing Children in restoration with their families during the Mela. The volunteers were also helped to women, children & older during the mela. Our CHILDLINE Staffs were deputed in 4 various Camps in Hajipur town to assist the public & their family. SPECIALIZED ADOPTION AGENCY (SAA), DARBHANGA SKSSSS has started Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA) at Darbhanga with the support from Social Welfare Directorate, Govt. of Bihar. The Centre started from August 2014 and inauguration by Assistant Director, District Child Protection Unit, Darbhanga. We have received neonatal abandoned and separated children for adoption services. After that we have also organized many awareness campaigns about CARA guidelines in Darbhanga, Samastipur & Madhubani (Darbhanga Commissionary of Bihar). We also developed good rapport with District Administration, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committees, Police, Panchayat Representatives & community peoples about awareness about adoption processes. RUNNING CHILDREN HOME, BEGUSARAI SKSSSS has started Skilled Manpower provide to Govt. run Children Home at Begusarai under Social Welfare Directorate, Govt. of Bihar. We provide security, house keeping, teaching, nutrition and support ADCP, Begusarai & Superintendent of home in Managing 50 Boys Capacity Home since January 2015. RUNNING BASERA CHILDREN SHELTER HOME Our organization is Running Basera (Baal Ashray Grih), Hajipur registered under J.J.Act. We are running an Open Shelter Home for Children at Hajipur, Vaishali, Bihar since August 2012. Till date we have sheltered more than 250 children. Some of the missing children sheltered at Children Homes at Muzaffarpur, Chapra & Patna and some of the children were restored. The home was registered under 34(3) of J.J.Act. 7 P a g e

PREVENTION OF HIV/AIDS PROGRAMME TARGETED INTERVENTION PROGRAM SKSSSS is working for prevention and care of HIV/AIDS among 625 HRGs (425 FSW and 200 MSM) since March, 2012 with the support of Bihar State AIDS Control Society, Patna. The project has completed its 8 th Phase activity on 31 st March 2018. The objectives of the TI program were: a. To control and reverse HIV/AIDS b. To increase the coverage and uptake of services like S.T.I. treatment. c. To ensure 100% condom usage, to improve referral services and d. To develop linkages to improve access to health services. The core components of the project are: Advocacy, Networking with different Stakeholders, Condom Promotion, STI/STD Management, BCC for Safe Behavior and Strengthening of CBOs. The achievements of the program in 2016-2017 are as follows: CBOs of FSW & MSM have been formed in Vaishali district. 625 HRGs are covered under TI project with services of counseling, HIV testing & developing safe practices of condoms. 10 Hot Spots were identified in different places of Vaishali district. No. of registration FSW- 425, MSM- 200 No. of I.C.T.C. visit FSW- 755, MSM-331 No. of HIV Positive FSW- 01, MSM-0 No. of S.T.I. Visited FSW- 1670, MSM-670 No. of V.D.R.L. Visit FSW- 755, MSM-331 No. of Condom Distribution FSW-119476, MSM-46121 World AIDS day was celebrated with FSW and MSM at Vaishali. HIV RAPID TEST PROGRAMME UNDER AIDS HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION, NEW DELHI The HIV prevalence in Vaishali District is very high. Population of District is 3495021 as per census 2011.Even a newly started ART Centre at its headquarter Hajipur has admitted more than 700 positive cases and treating many of them. But there is also many lacking in the services. The positive cases not identified by government machineries. Because they do not move out frequently for integrated testing. We are working on 3 rd phase since November 2016 as AHF Partners. AHF provided us the testing kits & other materials for HIV RTP Project till now. We have been targeted whole district of Vaishali & till now we have tested 11800 target peoples from vulnerable groups like High Risk Groups of Female Sex Workers, Migrant Labourers, MSM, Transgender community, Truckers & other hidden habitual sexual behavioural groups for HIV infection. We found more than 100 8 P a g e

HIV Positive cases and linked them for treatment to the Govt. health system with ICTC & ART Centre at Hajipur. We are regularly monitoring & follow-up the positive cases. VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME - Our organization has started Training Programmes for Kushal Yuva Programme (KYP) at Hajipur under BSDM - Our organization is running a training centre at Hajipur (Vaishali District of Bihar) since June 2013 in collaboration with many Govt. & Private Funding Agencies. We have selected some of most demanded trades like Tally Accounting with Basic Computer, Mobile Repairing, Beautician, Electrician etc. We have train to more than 750 Youths from this institution. We organized placement camps in collaboration with NIESBUD and placed 30% of trainees to various enterprises/ companies. We have also networked with Inauguration of Skill Development Centre by Hajipur MLA Mr. Awadhesh Kumar business. District Industries Kendra & Banks for loan to start entrepreneurs for the trainees. About 100 participants got Rs. 10000 to 30000 as loan to start the - Our organization has started Kushal Yuva Programme (KYP) Centre at Hajipur from February 2017 and we are running 4 Batches of 160 students under Bihar Skill Development Mission, Labour Resource Department, Govt. of Bihar. HEALTH PROGRAMS HOSPITAL & WASTE MANAGEMENT Our organization approached to DHS Vaishali to take-up Hospital-Waste Management for the facility of Hygienic condition in Hospitals for the patients and its attendant. As per our concern and knowledge for the appropriate maintenance of hospitals facilities and disposals of hospital wastes at all levels to public health, environmental quality and sustainability to the echo system. Since 2006, SKSSSS is working on the issue to improve the situation with the support of District Health Society, Vaishali by undertaking hospitals and waste management services at all the 16 Primary Health Centres, 02 Referral Hospitals. During the year of 2016-17 our organization has continued work on hospital & waste management in Sadar Hospital, Hajipur, Sub-divisional Hospital, Mahua & Referral Hospital, Mohanpur too. We have also started this work in 14 Additional Primary Health Centres of Vaishali District during the year. The work has been instrumental in improving the situation of hospital and waste management services in Vaishali district in a positive manner. 9 P a g e

In the addition of Vaishali District, the District Health Services, Samastipur in chairmanship of D.M., Samastipur provided SKSSSS to undertake the Hospital Maintenance Work in 4 Govt. Hospitals of Samastipur District since March 2012. Civil Surgeon in his order letter provided us 4 Govt. Hospitals i.e. Referral Hospital, Tajpur, Khanpur PHC, Warishnagar PHC & Kalyanpur PHC. We started the all five outsourcing works in Hospitals for better implementation of work in Hospitals. We had also deputed qualified Supervisors & staffs for performing job efficiently & smoothly at hospital level. ANNUAL GOVERNING BODY/ EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING Annual Governing Body/ Executive Committee meeting was held on 12.03.2018 on Saturday at Shukla Sabhagar, Hospital Road, Hajipur. The meeting started in the chairmanship of Mr. Ambar Mishra, President of SKSSSS. Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shukla, Secretary, SKSSSS shared the progress of SKSSSS during FY 2017-18. He also informed to the members about present funding positions and transaction project wise. Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shukla proposed for application for various grant (Govt. & Private) in the next FY 2018-2019. House authorized Mr. Sudhir Kumar Shukla as Chief Functionary of SKSSSS and he is liable for all respect of organizational work. He is also recommended as Signing Authority for various Grant applications as Chief Functionary for SKSSSS.
