Being healed - your divine right Mar 20 209 Ps. :2,, 2 2 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. Matt. 9:5 5 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. Matt. 9: (to And), two (to ;) 28 29 And...... two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you. And their eyes were opened;... John 5:2 9, 4, 6 20 2 4 5 6 7 8 9 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: /7
4 6 7 9 20 and on the same day was the sabbath. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to slay him, because he had done these things on the sabbath day. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. Ps. 56:4 2nd in 4... in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. Luke :6 all 6... all flesh shall see the salvation of God. SH 40:25 The Christian Science God is universal, eternal, divine Love, which changeth not and causeth no evil, disease, nor death. Anthropomorphism SH 2:4 5 Father Mother... Father-Mother is the name for Deity, which indicates His tender relationship to His spiritual creation. SH 472:25 That which He creates is good, and He makes all that is made. Therefore Unrealities the only reality of sin, sickness, or death is that seem real the awful fact that unrealities seem real to human, erring belief, until God strips off their disguise. They are not true, because they are not of God. We learn in Christian Science that all inharmony of mortal mind or body is illusion, possessing neither reality nor identity though seeming to be real and identical. SH 286: 4 Sin, sickness, and death are comprised in human material belief, and belong not to the divine Mind. They are without a real origin or existence. They have neither 2/7
Principle nor permanence, but belong, with all that is material and temporal, to the nothingness of error, which simulates the creations of Truth. SH 8: 2 5 Mortal existence is a dream of pain and pleasure in matter, a dream of sin, sickness, and death; and it is like the dream we have in sleep, in which every one recognizes his condition to be wholly a state of mind. In both the waking and the sleeping dream, the dreamer thinks that his body is material and the suffering is in that body. Disease a dream SH 480:29 2 If sin, sickness, and death were understood as nothingness, they would disappear. As vapor melts before the sun, so evil would vanish before the reality of good. One must hide the other. How important, then, to choose good as the reality! Vapor and nothingness SH 24:2 Inasmuch as God is good and the fount of all being, He does not produce moral or physical deformity; therefore such deformity is not real, but is illusion, the mirage of error. SH 46:24 28 24 Our Master treated error through Mind. He never enjoined obedience to the laws of nature, if by these are meant laws of matter, nor did he use drugs. There is a law of God applicable to healing, and it is a spiritual law instead of material. Unhesitating decision SH 6:7 Christ, Truth, was demonstrated through Jesus to prove the power of 9 Spirit over the flesh, to show that Truth is made manifest by its effects upon the human mind and body, healing sickness and destroying sin. SH 495:6 7 6 If sickness is true or the idea of Truth, you cannot destroy sickness, and it would be absurd to try. /7
SH 2:4 But if sickness and sin are illusions, the awakening from this mortal dream, or illusion, will bring us into health, 6 holiness, and immortality. This awakening is the forever coming of Christ, the advanced appearing of Truth, which casts out error and heals the sick. This is the salvation which comes through God, the divine Principle, 9 Love, as demonstrated by Jesus. SH 25:5 5 2 We are sometimes led to believe that darkness is as real as light; but Science affirms darkness to be only a mortal sense of the absence of light, at the coming of which darkness loses the appearance of reality. So sin and sorrow, disease and death, are the suppositional absence of Life, God, and flee as phantoms of error before truth and love. Light and darkness SH 40:4 20 5 You command the situation if you understand that mortal existence is a state of self-deception and not the truth of being. Mortal mind is constantly producing on mortal body the results of false opinions; and it will continue to do so, until mortal error is deprived of its imaginary powers by Truth, which sweeps away the gossamer web of mortal illusion. Error s power imaginary SH 96:4 The power of mortal mind over its own body is little understood. SH 47:20 2 To the Christian Science healer, sickness is a dream from which the patient needs to be awakened. 2 SH 494:9 Reason, rightly directed, serves to correct the errors of corporeal sense; but 2 sin, sickness, and death will seem real (even as the experiences of the sleeping dream seem real) until the Science of man's eternal harmony breaks their illusion with 24 the unbroken reality of scientific being. SH 96: It breaks the dream of disease to under- 4/7
stand that sickness is formed by the human mind, not by matter nor by the divine Mind. SH 4: A woman, whom I cured of consumption, always breathed with great difficulty when the wind was from the east. I sat silently by her side a few moments. Her breath came gently. The inspirations were deep and natural. I then requested her to look at the weather-vane. She looked and saw that it pointed due east. The wind had not changed, but her thought of it had and so her difficulty in breathing had gone. The wind had not produced the difficulty. My metaphysical treatment changed the action of her belief on the lungs, and she never suffered again from east winds, but was restored to health. SH 4:24 Whatever 24 Whatever is cherished in mortal mind as the physical condition is imaged forth on the body. SH xi:9 9 The physical healing of Christian Science results now, as in Jesus' time, from the operation of divine Principle, before which sin and disease lose their reality in human consciousness and disappear as naturally 2 and as necessarily as darkness gives place to light and sin to reformation. Now, as then, these mighty works 5 are not supernatural, but supremely natural. They are the sign of Immanuel, or God with us, a divine influence ever present in human consciousness and repeating itself, coming now as was promised aforetime, To preach deliverance to the captives [of sense], And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised. 2 SH 476:2 4 Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick. SH 228: 29 (to 2nd.) The humble Nazarene overthrew the supposition that sin, sickness, and death Priestly pride humbled 5/7
have power. He proved them powerless. SH 5:26 Christianity as Jesus taught it was not a creed, nor a system of ceremonies, nor a special gift from a ritualistic Jehovah; but it was the demonstration of divine Love casting out error and healing the sick, not merely in the name of Christ, or Truth, but in demonstration of Truth, as must be the case in the cycles of divine light. SH 92: Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power. SH 65:5 9 5 If the Scientist reaches his patient through divine Love, the healing work will be accomplished at one visit, and the disease will vanish into its native nothingness like dew before the morning sunshine. Speedy healing SH 4:28 Speak the truth to every form of error. Tumors, ulcers, tubercles, inflammation, pain, deformed joints, are waking dream-shadows, dark images of mortal thought, which flee before the light of Truth. Morality required SH 22: Sooner or later we shall learn that the fetters of man's finite capacity are forged by the illusion that he lives in body instead of in Soul, in matter 6 instead of in Spirit. SH 495:4 6 When the illusion of sickness or sin tempts you, cling 5 steadfastly to God and His idea. Allow nothing but His likeness to abide in your thought. SH 475: 4 Man is idea, the image, of Love; he is not physique. SH 470:2 24 6/7
24 Man is the expression of God's being. Indestructible relationship SH 495:20 Let Christian Science, 2 instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with 24 harmony. SH 2:2 2, 25 26 2 Christian Science raises the standard of liberty and cries: Follow me! Escape from the bondage of sickness, sin, and death! is your divine right.
