Whats to Come By: Terra Lomber In this poem I talk about the future, and succeeding. It is a sonnet, 14 lines and every other line rhymes, and the last two. Therefore it is rhyme scheme. What Does the future hold? We do not know To wonder, to worry we still canʼt see It is like Michigan weather, will it snow? Things always happen what could those things be? I am always hoping that I succeed I try and work hard every single day I am always up to do a good deed Looking for that great moment to say yay! Hooray for good grades; college is coming. I hope I get in, what else will I do? Look at myself and what Iʼm becoming. I remember the days, spent at the zoo. My past is now receding in my view. Now Im on my way to start something new. This poem is worth reading because it is how I feel about the future and hoping to get into college. http://asiapacific.blogs.ie.edu/archives/2011/11/iemasterclass-the-world-of-the-future.php Next Poems

I carry your heart with me By: E.E. Cummings i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling) i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart) I thought this poem would be important to put on here because it is by E.E. Cummings and he is a famous poet, so I thought some of his work should be incorporated into this. http://www.flickr.com/photos/londahail/2196946590/ This poem is about love that is so strong it is like they are together all the time. This poem has great meaning. http://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php? date=2010/10/14 Next Poem
Sonnet CXVI By: William Shakesphere Let me not to the marriage of true minds Admit impediments. Love is not love, Which alters when it alteration finds, Or bends with the remover to remove. Oh, no! it is an ever-fixed mark That looks on tempests.. and is never shaken. It is the star to every wandering bark Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken. Love is not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks Within his bending sickle's compass come. Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks, But bears it out.. even to the edge of doom. If this be error and upon me proved, I never writ, nor no man ever loved. This poem is a good one to know because it is by William Shakesphere and he is an excellent poet. This poem is his point of view on love. http://www.famous-poems.biz/william_shakespeare/top-ten-poets- William-Shakespeare-10-best-poems.html Next Poem
Life By: Henry Van Dyke Let me but live my life from year to year, With forward face and unreluctant soul; Not hurrying to, nor turning from the goal; Not mourning for the things that disappear In the dim past, nor holding back in fear From what the future veils; but with a whole And happy heart, that pays its toll To Youth and Age, and travels on with cheer. So let the way wind up the hill or down, O'er rough or smooth, the journey will be joy: Still seeking what I sought when but a boy, New friendship, high adventure, and a crown, My heart will keep the courage of the quest, And hope the road's last turn will be the best. This poem talks about not holding back in life and to not fear the future. Also it is about going for your goals and achieving them. http://famouspoetsandpoems.com/poets/henry_van_dyke/ poems/2604.html Home Page
