Slide 64 Chapter 8 Outline I. The Historical Setting (1) II. The Vision (2 14) III. The Vision s Interpretation (15 26) IV. The Personal Impact on Daniel (27) 10 Zech. 12:2-3- Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup [b] that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. 3 It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely [c] injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it. Job 38:4-7-Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you [a] have understanding, 5 Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? 6 On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, 7 When the morning stars sang together And all the sons of God shouted for joy? Dan. 12:1-Now at that time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued.

11 John 6:38-For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. Mark 10:45-For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His [p] life a ransom for many. 2 Thess. 2:4-who opposes and exalts himself above [a] every socalled god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. Isa. 14:14-I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High Dan. 9:27- And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of [ae] abominations will come one who [af] makes desolate, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who [ag] makes desolate. Rev. 13:15- And it was given to him to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast would even [l] speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed. Eccles. 1:9-That which has been is that which will be, And that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun. 12 Ps. 73:3-20-For I was envious of the [b] arrogant As I saw the prosperity of the wicked.

4 For there are no pains in their death, And their [c] body is fat. 5 They are not [d] in trouble as other [e] men, Nor are they plagued [f] like mankind. 6 Therefore pride is their necklace; The garment of violence covers them. 7 Their eye [g] bulges from fatness; The imaginations of their heart [h] run riot. 8 They mock and [i] wickedly speak of oppression; They speak from on high. 9 They have set their mouth [j] against the heavens, And their tongue [k] parades through the earth. 10 Therefore [l] his people return to this place, And waters of abundance are [m] drunk by them. 11 They say, How does God know? And is there knowledge [n] with the Most High? 12 Behold, these are the wicked; And always at ease, they have increased in wealth. 13 Surely in vain I have [o] kept my heart pure And washed my hands in innocence; 14 For I have been stricken all day long And [p] chastened every morning. 15 If I had said, I will speak thus, Behold, I would have betrayed the generation of Your children. 16 When I pondered to understand this, It was [q] troublesome in my sight 17 Until I came into the [r] sanctuary of God; Then I perceived their end. 18 Surely You set them in slippery places;

You cast them down to [s] destruction. 19 How they are [t] destroyed in a moment! They are utterly swept away by sudden terrors! 20 Like a dream when one awakes, O Lord, when aroused, You will despise their [u] form. 14 1 John 4:4-You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. John 10:22-24- At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem; 23 it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon. 24 The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, How long [b] will You keep us in suspense? If You are [c] the Christ, tell us plainly. 23 Dan. 11:31- Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination [an] of desolation. Dan.

1 Thess. 5:3- While they are saying, Peace and safety! then [b] destruction [c] will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape. 26 Dan. 12:4- But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase. Dan. 12:9- He said, Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. 1 Pet. 1:10-11- As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, 11 [h] seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories [i] to follow. 27 Dan. 12:8-9- As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, My lord, what will be the [j] outcome of these events? 9 He said, Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the end time. Num. 6:24-26- The LORD bless you, and keep you; 25 The LORD make His face shine on you, And be gracious to you; 26 The LORD lift up His countenance on you, And give you peace.
