FIRE LANE: When parking in the lot, please do not park in or block the Fire Lane, which is the lane closest to the stairs. This lane is needed for emergencies and is required by the Fire Department. LOVE THY NIEGHBOR: For those who do not park in our lot, please be considerate of our neighbors. All efforts should be made NOT TO block driveways or walkways. Attention should also be paid to the railroad bed side of the church. Some of the houses that face Manomet Avenue do not have driveways and their backyards which face the back of the church serve this purpose. A little courtesy regarding parking can go a long way Parking Instructions & Guidelines With our limitations and restrictions on parking, please review these guidelines: NO parking in the FIRE LANE, which is the lane that is closest to the main entrance stairs. This lane is needed for emergencies and is required by the Fire Department. All efforts should be made to park in our designated church parking lot, as well as any spaces on the Railroad Bed. If you need to park on the street, then please be considerate of the neighbors. DO NOT BLOCK their driveways, or walkway s leading into their homes. It is illegal to block driveways. The police department has been very accommodating and does not ticket during Mass times. However, if you leave your car in a restricted area outside of Mass times, you may be ticketed. This includes staying after Mass for whatever reason. To avoid receiving a ticket, you may want to move your car to the parking lot after Mass if you will be staying. VIRTUS TRAINING - PROTECTING GOD S CHILDREN There is an Archdiocesan policy requiring all staff and ministry volunteers attend a training called Protecting God s Children which is administered by the Catholic Risk Retention Group under an umbrella called VIRTUS. Although this program was created in the wake of the sex abuse scandal, the reality is that children are abused every day by any number of categories of people. This program educates the participants on the subject of sexual abuse, warning signs we should all be aware of, safety precautions we should take whether at church, in our neighborhoods, or even in our own homes and steps to take when we need/want to communicate concerns. It is not an easy topic for discussion but it is one that needs to happen if we are to truly consider our parish home a safe place for our children. Training Information We will offer 2 training sessions, in the church hall Sunday, June 25th at 4:00pm Thursday, June 29th at 7:00pm If you are a volunteer in a ministry that is visible to the children such as lector, Eucharistic minister, music or bell choir, Sunday morning donuts and coffee, teacher and you have not participated in one of these sessions in the past, then you are required to attend. We realize this is an extra commitment in your busy lives, but policy aside, we believe this is important information that will help us keep our children safe and keeping children safe should be a priority in all our lives. Thank you in advance for being open to participating in this program. Novena to St. Peregrine St. Peregrine is the patron of those living with cancer. Join us in interceding for hope and healing. Includes the novena prayer and benediction. When: Wednesday s, starting June 21st Time: 7:00pm Where: St. Ann Church www.stmaryhull.com June 11, 2017 Page 4

For nearly 100 years, Sunset Point Camp has provided children of the Greater Boston area the opportunity to have a fun-filled summer camp experience. The goal of the camp has always been to provide a free vacation for at-risk, low-income children from the Greater Boston area, without regard for their race, nationality, or religious affiliation. The programs at Sunset Point Camp are designed around building life skills, including teamwork, leadership, self -discipline, self-esteem, sportsmanship, and good health. To date, thousands of children have attended the camp. bites and our parish is being asked to collect bug spray. There are no special requirements for what brand. The camp is also in need of flip flops for the children-ages 6 to 13 both boys and girls. There will be a large blue plastic tub in the gathering space during June for the collection. Thank you for your continued interest and support of the camp. If you have any questions, you can all Kate Brigham at 781-925- 0024. Treasure Night at Sunset Point Camp Treasure Night happens every week at Sunset Point Camp on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm. The basement of the camp is turned into a carnival with games and prizes. The campers play games including Ring Toss, Putt- Putt Golf, Ball and Beanbag Toss. Campers earn tokens that they can trade in at a counter. The prize counters have toys, games, puzzles, and other gadgets that the kids can enjoy. Another station has soda, popcorn, and lollipops. A dedicated group of parishioners from St Mary of the Nativity in Scituate has been organizing and running this for over 25 years and they d like our help. We need 10 people a week and if you would like to volunteer there will be sign-up sheets in the gathering space for the following evenings: July 5, July 12, July 19, July 26, August 2 and August 9 th. Contact Kate Brigham at katebrigham@comcast.net or 781-925-0024 with any questions. All those campers need to be protected from bug www.stmaryhull.com June 11, 2017 Page 5
