In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Prov 2:3- if, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 5 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. II Chron 1:1 1 AND Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem. II Chron 20:2 (to ;),3-,,13,15 Thus,17,18,20-25,27-30 2 3 4 5 Then there came some that told Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; And Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah. And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD. And Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,

Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever? And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying, If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help. O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee. And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children. Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God s. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to-morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you. And Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD. And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tĕ-kō -ă: and as they went forth, Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever. And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten. For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another. And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to

And when Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt in the forefront of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies. And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets unto the house of the LORD. And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel. So the realm of Jĕ-hŏsh -ă-phăt was quiet: for his God gave him rest round about. Col 1:2-3 Grace, 3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you, For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy 444:10 Step by step will those who trust Him find that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 454: Human hate has no legitimate mandate and no kingdom. Love is enthroned. That evil or matter has neither intelligence nor power, is the doctrine of absolute Christian Science, and this is the great truth which strips all disguise from error.
4 of 7 4/18/2013 4:28 PM 472:13-14 (to.) Question. What is error? Answer. 472:17 (only) Error is the contradiction of Truth. 77:- Error brings its own self-destruction both here and hereafter, for mortal mind creates its own physical conditions. Second death 472:18 (only) Error is a belief without understanding. 83:-20 15 18 Nothing is more antagonistic to Christian Science than a blind belief without understanding, for such a belief hides Truth and builds on error. Miracles are impossible in Science, and here Science takes issue with popular religions. The scientific manifestation of power is from the divine nature and is not supernatural, since Science is an explication of nature. The belief that the universe, including man, is governed in general by material laws, but that occasionally Spirit sets aside these laws, this belief belittles omnipotent wisdom, and gives to matter the precedence over Spirit. Natural wonders 18:5 Christian Science destroys material beliefs through the understanding of Spirit, and the thoroughness of this work determines health. Erring human mind-forces can work only evil under whatever name or pretence they are em-

Human will belongs to the so-called material senses, and its use is to be condemned. Willing the sick to recover is not the metaphysical practice of Christian Science, but is sheer animal magnetism. Human will-power may infringe the rights of man. It produces evil continually, and is not a factor in the realism of being. Truth, and not corporeal will, is the divine power which says to disease, Peace, be still. Will-power detrimental 40:3 Will-power is but a product of belief, and this belief commits depredations on harmony. Human will is an animal propensity, not a faculty of Soul. Hence it cannot govern man aright. Christian Science reveals Truth and Love as the motive-powers of man. Will blind, stubborn, and headlong cooperates with appetite and passion. From this cooperation arises its evil. From this also comes its powerlessness, since all power belongs to God, good. Will-power an animal propensity 20:-14 It is the province of spiritual sense to govern man. Material, erring, human thought acts injuriously both upon the body and through it. Will-power is capable of all evil. It can never heal the sick, for it is the prayer of the unrighteous; while the exercise of the sentiments hope, faith, love is the prayer of the righteous. This prayer, governed by Science instead of the senses, heals the sick. 40: 15 18 The Science of Mind needs to be understood. Until
of 7 4/18/2013 4:28 PM it is understood, mortals are more or less deprived of Truth. Human theories are helpless to make man harmonious or immortal, since he is so already, according to Christian Science. Our only need is to know this and reduce to practice the real man s divine Principle, Love. Theories helpless 14:2-31 30 We need to understand the affirmations of divine Science, dismiss superstition, and demonstrate truth according to Christ. 454:5- The understanding, even in a degree, of the divine All-power destroys fear, and plants the feet in the true path, the path which leads to the house built without hands eternal in the heavens. Impotence of hate 272:3-5 The spiritual sense of truth must be gained before Truth can be understood. This sense is assimilated only as we are honest, unselfish, loving, and meek. Spirituality of Scripture 3:22 24 27 30 At the right time explain to the sick the power which their beliefs exercise over their bodies. Give them divine and wholesome understanding, with which to combat their erroneous sense, and so efface the images of sickness from mortal mind. Keep distinctly in thought that man is the offspring of God, not of man; that man is spiritual, not material; that Soul is Spirit, outside of matter, never in it, never giving the body life and sensation. It breaks the dream of disease to understand that sickness is formed by the human mind, not by matter nor by the divine Mind. Healthful explanation 35:-10
7 of 7 4/18/2013 4:28 PM Like the great Exemplar, the healer should speak to disease as one having authority over it, leaving Soul to master the false evidences of the corporeal senses and to assert its claims over mortality and disease. Divine authority 487:27 The understanding that Life is God, Spirit, lengthens our days by strengthening our trust in the deathless reality of Life, its almightiness and immortality.
