So we must be careful, amid our new houses, plentiful grocery stores, diverse restaurants and convenient shopping, to not let the suburbs cloud our souls. Having access to an abundance of resources often leads to forgetting our calling and ourselves. Solomon, writing in Ecclesiastes, shows us a vivid example of a life of plenty and convenience that, while meeting all the marks of success, was at its end a failure. In considering our place in this space, we must contend boldly for our radical calling.
