A word from the President Happy New Year!!! Yes, we are now officially in the New Year 2012. How many times will we write 2011 before we get used to the change? With the New Year comes many changes in our lives. Speaking of change, we have had some changes in CMA leadership at both the chapter level and the regional level. At the chapter level we need to be in prayer for our new Road Captain James Dedman as he leads us through this year. We also need to be in prayer for our new Regional Evangelist John Ogden Jr. as he takes the reins of the South Central Region from Kerry Gibson who will take on a different role in the leadership of CMA. I am not one to make New Year s resolutions but I do believe in setting goals for the New Year. Last year our goal was to build strength within the chapter by providing more opportunities to fellowship and grow closer to one another and to the Lord. I am happy with the success we made as a chapter in that area of our lives. I know that I have enjoyed the times of fellowship and the closeness that we have developed within the chapter. As we think about the goals that we will set for 2012 we need to begin to get out there and get our presence known. To do that I know that we will need to get more media coverage which will require someone to take on that responsibility. Be in prayer that God will lead someone to take on that role. The weather is not going to be conducive for a lot of riding over the next couple of months as we endure the winter season. That doesn t mean that we won t have lots of opportunities to share Christ with others. In fact there will be events that will give us both opportunities to share and grow as CMA members. Check the online calendar and the monthly newsletter for upcoming events. Even if the bike is idle it doesn t mean we have to be. I look forward to a great year for CMA and the Victory Riders in 2012. I want to encourage you to be as active as possible and always wear your Colors. It s All About JESUS! David Smith, President # # # # # # # Chaplain s Corner Well another year gone by and a new one on the rise. I never keep my New Year Resolutions, but I ve been thinking that maybe this would be a good year to make resolutions toward the Kingdom of God. Anything for Jesus, because it really is all about Jesus. In Isaiah chapter 1:1-4 and 16-19 God has shown Isaiah a vision concerning Judah and Jerusalem. The Lord is telling them all the things He is upset about. Verse 4 explains the condition that this nation is in and it sounds a lot like America today. Isaiah 1:4 says Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward. Sounds a lot like our nation. However, God gives them instructions on how to come clean before Him. Verses 16-19 tell us how to start our New Year: 16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the
land: I think this is just a few of the things we can all do. It boils down to repentance of our sins, acknowledging God's word and not following our will( Help us Lord) and helping others as much as possible. Don't hide your candle under a basket; the light in us is given by Jesus Christ, so let us glorify Him for He is worthy. Tell someone about JESUS today. It s all about Jesus! We now meet at Midway Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Bring your Bible and a desire to grow in the Word. (Also bring some sandwiches, chips or dessert!) The only things David Smith, VR President, loves more than riding are Jesus and Jean. He runs the video system and is on the Evangelistic Team at Midway Baptist Church and he makes a living as the Media Specialist for the Grant Parish School System. He loves to travel, especially on the motorcycle. A few years ago he switched to a trike and hasn t regretted it for a moment. Other than riding, he enjoys traveling by any method and gardening. His favorite vacation site so far has been Washington, DC, but the getting there is always half the fun!
Victory Riders online calendar: http://www.my.calendars.net/cmavictoryriders Sanctity of Human Life Day 18 th National Hugging Day 21 st And my personal favorite - Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day 30 th (I call them snappers ) Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is held on the Sunday in January that falls closest to the day on which the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions were handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court on January 22, 1973. Approximately 50,000,000 babies have now been killed through abortion in the United States since the Roe vs. Wade decision. FYI: January is Be Kind to Food Servers Month this is one we should practice always, especially when wearing CMA Colors! Oatmeal Month it sticks to your ribs! Tubers and Dried Fruit Month what can I say? And then there are the following: National Static Electricity Day 9 th Rubber Ducky Day 13 th Appreciate a Dragon Day 16 th In a January 13, 1984 proclamation, President Ronald Reagan designated January 22, 1984 as the first National Sanctity of Human Life Day. The date was chosen to coincide with the 11th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court case that first recognized the constitutionallyprotected status of abortion in the United States.[1] Reagan issued the proclamation annually thereafter, designating Sanctity of Human Life Day to be the third Sunday in January, which represents the closest Sunday to the original January 22 date. His successor, George H. W. Bush, continued the annual proclamation throughout his presidency. Bush's successor, Bill Clinton, discontinued the practice throughout his eight years in office, but Bush's son and Clinton's successor, George W. Bush, resumed the proclamation, and did so every year of his presidency. President Obama has, like former President Clinton, discontinued the annual proclamation. However, most churches in the United States will, on Sunday, January 15 or January 22, observe Sanctity of Human Life Day. As that day approaches we need to be in prayer for those who might be contemplating abortion as well as for their unborn babies. Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

The following devotionals were taken from Worthy Devotions - Bible Based Christian Daily Devotional @ www.worthydevotions.com. They both seemed so relevant to this new beginning. When missionary Dr. David Livingstone was working in Africa, a group of friends wrote him: "We would like to send other men to you. Have you found a good road into your area yet?" Dr. Livingstone sent this message in reply: "If you have men who will only come if they know there is a good road, I don't want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all." There s a big difference between just being interested in doing something and actually making a commitment to doing it! Just being interested allows us the freedom do a thing only when our circumstances permit. But making a commitment to do that thing means accepting no excuses and no reservations it means putting aside our fears and reservations moving forward till we see the end result! Dr. Livingstone was looking for results, and this required men of commitment! With 2012 under way, let s make some commitments! Our Lord, our families, our churches and CMA are awaiting us! The noted English architect Sir Christopher Wren was supervising the construction of a magnificent cathedral in London. A journalist thought it would be interesting to interview some of the workers, so he chose three and asked them this question, "What are you doing?" The first replied, "I'm cutting stone for a shabby 10 shillings a day." The next answered, "I'm putting in 13 hard hours a day on this job." But the last said, "I'm helping Sir Christopher Wren construct one of London's greatest cathedrals." Whether you realize it or not, we too are building something. We who believe are building up God's Kingdom, the richest and greatest Kingdom this world will ever see! In light of this New Year, let's examine ourselves and see if we need to make some changes in our perspective. We have the privilege of partaking in something amazing and better yet, doing it for the King of Kings! Let's give our will and our life back to the Lord today and focus on doing great things for the Kingdom this year! Ephesians 6:19-20 (ESV) 19 and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak.
