eart beat Love one another as I have loved you. John 15:17 H Our Weekly Prayer A Prayer for Holy Week 1st April 2015 Week 10 Term 1 2015 Lord Jesus Christ, in this sacred and solemn week when we see again the depth and mystery of your redeeming love, help us to follow where you go, to stop where you stumble, to listen when you cry, to hurt as you suffer, to bow our heads in sorrow as you die, so that, when you are raised to life again, we may share in your endless joy. Amen. ( Celebrating God s Presence UCPH 2000 http://www.rsccaritas.ie/rscnews/401-a-prayer-for-holy-week HOLY WEEK STORY - On Thursday at 12pm we will begin our service in the undercover area. Classes will walk to the Church, pausing to reflect on the events of Holy Week on the way. Families are welcome to join us. It has been an amazing 10 weeks with many great things occurring. It is now time for us all to pause, replenish and refocus for the next term. In entering a week of well-earned holidays, We pray for the safe return of all our families next term. We also pray in thanksgiving for those who have been a part of our community and will leave us at this time. We are grateful for their contributions to our community. In amongst all the chickens and chocolate, it is easy to miss the point of Easter Sunday, and even easier to forget the Passion of Christ that leads up to it. Without remembering the life of Jesus and the Passion of Holy Week, Easter makes no sense for us today. Without the ministry and suffering of Christ before his death, Easter is just a story of magic or myth. The Easter story (in its entirety including the death and resurrection) gives us faith and hope in life now and beyond. That first Easter morning the women and then the men visited the tomb and found the stone rolled away. That stone that had symbolised so powerfully the end of life and hope and future. All was lost as that stone was rolled across the tomb. It was the final moment of the reality of the death of the one they loved and who had brought love, life and hope to them. That first Easter morning the stone was rolled away. The barrier between death and life was gone. The barrier between despair and hope was removed. The barrier between brokenness and wholeness was destroyed. That first Easter God moved the stone, and he still moves stones today. Is there something that stands between you and life, between you and hope, between you and wholeness, between you and God? God still moves stones today. Ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened. So this Easter day let us ask God to remove all that stands between us and life, hope, wholeness and himself. May we know the new life of the resurrection, Lyn, Cate, Gez and Lindsay lindsay.luck@nt.catholic.edu.au lynette.delaney@nt.catholic.edu.au cate.cockayne@nt.catholic.edu.au gez.mulvahil@nt.catholic.edu.au

Class of the Week Transition Room 4 We have enjoyed learning about The Easter Story and the events of Holy Week. We have listened to the stories of Palm Sunday, The Washing of the Feet, and The Last Supper many times, and retold these stories with our Scriptural Storytelling Set. Viewing different versions of these stories on our Interactive Whiteboard, and producing illustrations to demonstrate our understandings has helped each of us to learn more about the life of Jesus. Our class loves to sing, and we have especially enjoyed learning Michael Mangan s Sing it Hosanna and Colin Buchanan s He Died Upon the Cross. We wish our Sacred Heart Community, and all their family and friends a very safe, happy and Holy Easter.
